Equal Rights Speech Project

Directions: After reading Sojourner Truth’s “Ain’t I a Woman” you will now create your own speech. Sojourner Truth’s speech highlighted the inequality that women were facing at the time. Unfortunately inequality still exists today. Your job is to choose a group in society today that lacks rights and argue for their equality. Your speech must highlight the inequality/discrimination the group faces and state why the group deserves equal rights. Your speech must be at least 15 sentences long and be written (or typed) on a pagethat is well decorated.

You can choose from one of the following groups or select one that is not listed (check with me first):

Race, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, hobby/interest, culture, age, disability.
