Environmental Science Project: Population Structure Model

Due: January 18 and will be presented next Friday January 20 to the class:

·  Create a model of a population structure in a country of your choice

·  Analyze the composition of the population now in terms of sex or age

·  Analyze if the population is growing or declining and the reasons why it is changing or stable

·  You will give a 3-7 minute class presentation on your model on Friday, January 20, 2017

The presentation must include:

a.Country name,b. trends, c.visual model, d.analysis of what is well represented by the model and e.limitations of the model, f.why you chose this country and what you learned, g. at least 4 vocabulary words

You may look at how the population has changed over time and what happened in the country's history to affect population.

Be creative with your model.

It should be exciting and illustrate the idea you are trying to show. Use at least 4 vocabulary words to write a paragraph that explains your model. What country are you modeling? Why did you choose this country? What is the population structure and trend? Why is this happening to the population or did this happen to the population? What does your model show about the population? What are the limitations of your model? What did you learn from this project?

Your project draft is due next Wednesday and will count as an authentic assessment grade. A picture of it/the model/write up about the pluses and limitations of your model is due on Google Classroom by Thursday, January 19, 6 p.m.
