Online resource Figure S1 Frequencies of Liver Lesion Indices (LLI) recorded per fish for each sampling site. LLI was calculated based on scoring of all alterations (not all reported here) using Bernet’s method (Bernet et al. 1999).

Online resource Figure S2: Ratios of dissolved and particulate metals and other ions for the 6 sampling stations along the SLR. Ratios > 0.5 indicate the dominance of dissolved forms whereas ratios < 0.5 give an indication of a more dominant particulate form (MDDELCC 2014).
