Beginner Puppies 4-6 months of age
AKC Sanctioned Beginner Puppy Competition
Judge: Dr. Jill Warren
The AKC has designed the Beginner Puppy Special Attraction to be an opportunity for puppies to interact with people and other dogs under a puppy friendly judge and show ring. New pure-bred puppy owners are encouraged to enter to explore competing in AKC events.
One combined class, not divided by sex, will be offered for the Irish Setter puppies that are four (4) months old & under six (6) months old. There will be a selection of Best Beginner Puppy. A green Rosette will be offered for the Best Beginner Puppy and a puppy toy will be given to each participating puppy.
An AKC registration number or litter number will be required for all entries.
Dogs are required to be vaccinated, including Rabies, in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol.
AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconductwill be applicable to any person and dog entered in this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise.
Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judge. Breed standard disqualifications shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4-6 month Puppy Special Attraction event.
Professional Handlers are not allowed to exhibit for this competition. Professional Handlers are defined as any person belonging or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay.
Entry Fee $15.00 (includes AKC recording fee of $2.00 for each dog. These fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.)
Entries will close on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 8:00 PM.

When a dog is entered in more than one class, the highest priced class is considered the first entry. A recording fee of $.50 and a $3.00 AKC Event Service Feewill be required for each dog entered by any licensed or member club show. These fees are to be collected by the show-giving club and paid to the AKC. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Fees are to be collected on the first entry only. AKC Rules, Ch. 16, Section 2.

Puppy Sweepstakes is open to Irish Setters entered in a Regular Class at the regular entry fee stated above. Entries are to be made at the same time and on the same entry blank as entry for the specialty, by indicating Sweepstakes Class (with age division) in the space provided for “Additional Class.” There are no AKC points connected with the Sweepstakes.

STUD DOG CLASS – For Stud Dogs and a minimum of two of their get. Not necessary that Get be under same ownership as Stud Dog. Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the Regular Classes or in Best of Breed, but must be entered in Stud Dog Class. Get must be entered in one of the Regular Classes. Stud dog shall be considered one entry and requires one entry fee, this being the regular fee plus the additional class fee, if Stud Dog is entered in another class. Stud Dog must be shown in ring with Get. Class to be judged on merit of Get.
BROOD BITCH CLASS – Same as for Stud Dog, but substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get.
BRACE – Two dogs with identical ownership. Both dogs must be entered in the regular classes.
As the judge’s decision in the above classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in such classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won such class.
VETERANS
A Class for dogs and a class for bitches seven years of age or older. The winners of these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed Competition.

For dogs and bitches winning the 6 months & under 9 months class, and the 9 month & under 12 month class in Regular Conformation Classes.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS
Dogs will be shown indoors in air conditioned building - crating and grooming facilities are available.
Dogs need be present only for judging. ALL DOGS MUST BE OUT OF THE BUILDING 1 HOUR AFTER JUDGING ENDS. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Entry fees will not be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by the judge or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.
If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the show-giving club it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fees will be made.
Dogs must be ready for judging. The owner or handler of each dog is solely responsible for having such dog ready at ringside when his class is ready to be judged.
Space will be provided at this show for unentered dogs.
The show-giving club and its membership assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers or any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children.
Officers and members of the Irish Setter Club of Central Oklahoma will exhibit dogs at this show.
Exhibitors and handlers will be held responsible for clean conditions in and around their crating and grooming area.
Parents will be held responsible for the conduct of their children at this show.
No entry shall be made, and no entry shall be accepted, which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be accepted without fees or signatures.
Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.
This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for this event.

From the North: I-35 to Exit 106 Hwy 9 West at Riverwind Casino. Go
one mile toward Chickasha and turn Left onto Santa Fe (also NW 24th St) then go 2.2 miles South. The Academy is on the Right.
From the West on Hwy 9 turn Right onto Santa Fe (also NW 24th St)and
follow the above directions.
From the South: Exit I-35 at Exit 104 Goldsby to W Interstate Drive to NW
Main (Marcums Nursery & Libby's Cafe). Turn Right onto Center and go
straight to NW 24th . Turn Right and the Academy will be on your left.
This is also a good choice when coming from the North as traffic is
often backed up at the Casino.

I (we) acknowledge that the “Rules Applying to Dog Shows/Registration and Discipline” and, if this entry is for an obedience trial and/or agility trial, the “Obedience Regulations”, and/or the “Agility Trial Regulations”, have been made available to me (us), and that I am (we are) familiar with their contents. INSTRUCTIONS
1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of a breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety you are entering i.e.,Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color). Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.). Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard), Collies (rough, smooth).
2. The following categories or dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition; Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.
