ENR2 Packing and Labeling Instructions

Labels

Up to 6 different colors of labels will be available to label all boxes and computers. The destination office or cubicle numbers must be on each label. Colors are: Level 1/Ground – Yellow, Level 2 – Red, Level 3 – Pink, Level 4 – Green, Level 5 – Blue, Level 6/Roof – Purple.

Lost and Found

One area will be designated as a “Lost and Found” area in the ENR2 building. In the event you have not received your things after the final truck has been unloaded, please check this area first before declaring your things missing.

Auto Bottom Boxes

Boxes will be delivered to your department in early March.

  • Remove all personal items such as pictures, plaques, awards, etc. It is recommended these items be moved by the employee. Wrapping paper will be available to you for these items.
  • All pens, pencils, paperclips should be placed in an envelope, sealed and placed in the boxes.
  • Make an attempt to pack the items in the bins as “tight” as possible as to avoid shifting and crushing in transit.
  • Do not pack computers, key boards or mice in the boxes.
  • Do not pack any telephones or printers or other peripherals in the boxes.
  • Do not pack any plants in the boxes (small plants should be moved by the employee).
  • Do not pack any fluids into the boxes to avoid spills and damaging other items.
  • Label the boxes on the side of the box so that they can be seen while they are stacked.
  • Place a piece of paper with your name, the new location and the office number inside each box in case the label falls off during the move.

Computers

  • Disconnect all cabling, cords, keyboards and mice and place in Ziploc bags provided by the movers. Label each bag.
  • Label all components, i.e. CPU, monitor, etc.
  • Provide a second set of labels for all computer components so movers can label them on the outside of bubble wrapped carts.
  • Laptop computers should be moved by the employee unless specific arrangements are made with the company.
  • Computers and monitors will be moved on special carts by the movers.
  • Printers, fax machines and other peripherals will be moved by the movers.
  • Any copiers, plotters and printers need to be “serviced” before moving by a maintenance entity before movers arrive to move them.

Misc. items

  • Large framed pictures or posters on walls: We ask that these all be gathered in one room before the move and labeled as to their final location. They will be packed and moved separately.
  • Flat files for plans: These will need to be moved empty. Large boxes will be provided to roll plans up place inside for the move. Again, label accordingly.
  • Large freestanding or wall mounted TV’s: It will be helpful if they can be removed and be ready for packing and moving. Label. If you need assistance removing and reinstalling them, please let us know specifically ahead of time, as Bekins can provide that assistance if they know about it.

If you have any questions or problems during the move, please contact Michelle Chaney with PDC at 621-9113.
