Enjoy the Rhythm of the Night
At the Eighth Annual Chancellor’s Ball
(Santa Ana) – Latin rhythm and flavor add zest to the eighth annual Rancho Santiago Community College District’s Chancellor’s Ball on Friday, October 14. This year’s event features silent and live auctions, exquisite cuisine, along with the music of Orquesta Caribe. The “Rhythm of the Night” continues with a performance by international salsa champion Liz Lira, winner of several international dance competitions.
Guests for the black tie optional gala will arrive at The Grove of Anaheim, 2200 E. Katella, in time to enjoy the 6 p.m. reception and silent auction. Dinner and entertainment get under way at 7:30 p.m. Guests can expect to dance to the Latin inspired sounds of Orquesta Caribe, whose tagline is “It isn’t just music; it is SALSA” at 9 p.m. David Cruz, co-anchor with Channel 4 News, serves as the event’s master of ceremonies.
“Last year, we raised $83,000 for student scholarships and drew more than 400 attendees,” said Edward Hernandez, Jr., Ed.D, Rancho Santiago Community College District’s chancellor. “We invite the community to join us for an evening of fun that helps make higher education accessible to all.”
Since 1999, the ball has raised nearly $400,000 to benefit student scholarships and innovative college programs at Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College. A highlight of the evening is the presentation of the Partners in Education Awards.
