Welcome to the After School Enrichment program Sponsored by the Jane Ryan PTA
Information & Policies
·  Checks should be made payable to Jane Ryan PTA, no cash please.
·  There will be a fee on all returned checks.
·  Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. Classes that fail to meet minimum student requirements may be cancelled and a refund will be issued.
·  Registration form and waiver must be received by Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2015.
·  Please complete all parts and return it with payment, as soon as possible, in an envelope marked ASE.
·  INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS on your registration form, this will be used for confirmation of your child’s enrollment in class.
·  There will be no refunds for missed classes or if you withdraw your child from class.
·  Children who are picked up late twice will be dismissed from the program with no refund.
·  Inappropriate or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Parents will be notified and students may be asked to leave the program without refund. We want After School Enrichment to be a fun experience for all students.
Weather Conditions
If school is closed early due to inclement weather, all ASE programs for that day will be cancelled. Children should go home as they normally do.
Teacher Conditions
If a class is cancelled suddenly because the teacher can’t make it, a member of the ASE committee will call parents. Children should go home as they normally do if their class is cancelled. If for some reason your child cannot follow their usual dismissal routine, please notify the office.
Make up classes
If a class is cancelled, the teacher will try to reschedule the class by adding another date and the end of each program. If your child can’t attend the makeup class there will be no refunds. If classes can’t be made up due to calendar limitations, no refunds will be issued.

Parent Chaperones
Parent chaperones are required for all workshops except for Mr. Hackett’s gym classes. There must be a parent chaperone at every workshop for the entire session. Classes will not be held if there is not a chaperone for every scheduled class and monies will be refunded.
Responsibilities include:
·  Arrive 3:15 PM.
·  Pick up class folder in office and go to all Grade K-2 and TLC classes to collect students enrolled in your ASE class.
·  Attend the entire class, making sure the teacher is present and assist (if needed).
·  Escort children to bathroom, water, etc…
·  Stay until each child is picked up at end. Parents must sign student out. Return folder to office.
·  Make sure classroom is left as it was found.
·  On the registration form, please indicate dates you are available to chaperone.
·  If you volunteer to chaperone for an entire session, you will be given a 50% discount on that class, upon completion of the program.

Extra, Extra! WRITE ALL ABOUT IT! The Lions’ Ledger is a new, student-run school newspaper in which students have the opportunity to write creatively in a variety of domains. There will be various components to this school newspaper, including a “Student Spotlight” section, a “What to Expect When…” section, and even a section dedicated to book reviews! This is an exciting and fun way to show your Jane Ryan pride, and I know the students will bring this newspaper to life. My name is Ms. O’Melia, and I look forward to working with some amazing Jane Ryan writers J

Play some of your favorite games from gym class while having fun with your friends. It is a great way to keep fit and stay healthy. Good sportsmanship is a must. (K WILL BE ABLE TO ENROLL IN THE WINTER AND SPRING SESSIONS).

Zumba kids Jr. is geared for both boys and girls of all abilities. It is ‘Exercise in Disguise’ because we play games and learn new dance moves which does not feel like a workout or something healthy. We will also learn about various countries that our songs come from such as the genre Cumbia is from the country Columbia. Your child will grow physically, socially and cognitively!

Learn how to work with clay and explore the endless possibilities of your imagination as we work on projects that are uniquely yours. Each week children will learn new techniques of working with clay and by the end of the season have several works of art to bring home that showcase their talents. Projects include: Glittery Coil Pots, Name Plates, Ghosts, Witches & Pumpkins, Turkey Pinch Pots, Leaf Bowls, Funny Animals.

Calling all future pop stars… If you love to sing and dance, this is for you! Come learn to sing and perform songs as a group. You will learn proper vocal technique, performance instruction and dance combinations while having a blast. The last class will be a performance for parents.

Are you a builder, crafter, miner or farmer? Have you only been able to play on your iPad and want to see what the full PC version of Minecraft is all about? How about working in groups to participate in teamwork and collaboration while playing with the other students on a teacher-monitored closed server. The class will be racing against time this Fall to save a town from imminent volcano explosions!
