  2. enable pupils to explore how we express our feelings

Programme Outline

Feebee, the monkey puppet, feels very happy and excitedbecause his uncle has given him a recorder. He has decided to use his recorder to record the feelings of different people. At the end of the day, Feebee has found out more about the different feelings that children have and how they express their feelings.

Suggested Activities

  1. Motivate the class by asking the pupils to describe their feelings. Teachers may bring pictures or faces that show different feelings and ask pupils to choose one face that best describes their feelings. Pupils can also talk about the reasons why they feel like that.
  2. Encourage the pupils to sing the song “If You’re Happy” while watching the programme. Teachers can encourage the pupils to dance according to the lyrics.
  3. Pupils complete Worksheet 1. Teachers can read to the pupils the word in each of the boxes and explain what the words mean to them.
  4. In Worksheet 2, teachers read aloud the words in the boxes and ask pupils to repeat them. Teachers can highlight to the pupils that those words end with the same sound. Teachers can play a matching game with the pupils by cutting out the pictures and the words. They can turn the cards over and ask the pupils to match the pictures and the words. Teachers can also choose one picture and ask pupils to look for a word card that describes the picture.
