Leadership and Management Structure /
  • As of March 31st 2008, there will no longer be an Athletics Development Officer in post for Nottinghamshire. The main point of contact from then on will be Steve Moore whose details can be found on the next page. Mike Beaumont would like to thank all clubs and volunteers he has worked with over the past 12 months for their support and wishes further success in the future.

Workforce Development /
  • The nextUK:A Level 1 Assistant Coach course coming up in Nottinghamshire is29th March at Harvey Hadden, Nottingham
  • 29th/30th March is the next date for the UK:A Level 2 Core Course which is being held at Harvey Hadden, Nottingham
  • A UK:A Level 3 Phase 2 courseis to be held at Loughborough University on 26th/27th April, following a fully booked speed module held on 8th/9th March at the same venue
  • The UK:A Strength & Conditioning optional module is running at LoughboroughUniversity on 5th/6th April, and again during September should the course be fully subscribed first time around
  • A level 2 officials course for track judging/time keeping is running at the Moorways Stadium, Derby on 12th April

  • The 3rdNotts AAA Awards Evening took place Saturday 8th December at Festival Hall, Kirkby-in-Ashfield. Following a tremendous amount of nominations, over 120 officials, volunteers, coaches and athletes from around the County enjoyed the evening, with the awards list reading:

  • Congratulations to Newark AC who have become the 5th Nottinghamshire club to gain Clubmark accreditation. Rushcliffe AC have also submitted their file and Worksop Harriers have made great progress
  • Due to the restructuring of athletics development in the County, the process of applying for coaching courses has changed. Application forms can be downloaded from the UK:A website or requested through Alan Richardson, Coach Development Officer EA East Mids at or 01509 228765.The funding guidelines that England Athletics provide will continue as they are:
Clubs WITH Clubmark Accreditation:
Level 1 and optional modules: 50%
Level 2: 75%
Level 3, 4 and strength & conditioning: 100%
Clubs WITHOUT Clubmark Accreditation:
Level 1 and optional modules: 25%
Level 2: 50%
Level 3, 4 and strength & conditioning: 75%

  • Nottinghamshire’s athletes continue to put County on the map when it comes to producing National standard performances following a particularly successful winter over the fields, on the road and on the track. Nurturing Talent and Developing Performance /
  • England Athletics – East Midlandscontinues to offer theirgrant aid scheme and athlete scholarship available to financially support athletes, clubs and other organisations involved with sport in the region

  • The Nottinghamshire AAA Development Squad took placeSunday 2ndDecember at the Ashfield School, with athletes that had performed above the East Midlands Power of 10 standards invited to attend. These can be found at Key athletic areas such as injury prevention, nutrition and FUNdamentals were covered by some of the regions elite coaches
  • The Regional Event Development Programme 07-08East Midlandsfor U15 and U17 athletes have been staged over the winter months at LoughboroughUniversity, with the final session coming up on 30th March

  • The nextCoaching and Development Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday 16th April at the Berry Hill Clubhouse at 7.00pm
  • 2 Athletics in Nottinghamshire Visioning Evenings have been booked to provide a chance to discuss athletics in the County and where you would like to see it heading, giving you the opportunity to make your views heard. The dates and venues are 2nd April, 7pm at Berry Hill, Mansfield and 7th April, 7pm at Harvey Hadden, Nottingham
