Engineering Services Supervisor Power Supplies & Overhead Line

PURPOSE OF THE JOB : / To carry out inspection of both the overhead line System and associated Power supply equipment.
STAFFING RESPONSIBILITIES : / Nil
SALARYRANGE / RB 3
The following list is typical of the duties, which the post holder will be required to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar type or level may be required from time to time.
The post holder will be required to use his or her own initiative and work unsupervised for considerable periods of time.
There will be a requirement to work unsociable hours. The working week shall consist of 5 shifts (day or night) out of 7, which may be spread over any 5 days of the week, including Saturday and Sunday.
There may beisa requirement to undertake standby/callout duties.
  • Maximum of 2 weeks night shift within a 4 week period
  • 12 weekends per year for heavy engineering works

PRINCIPAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. / Overhead line and associated equipment inspection.
2. / Isolations & Bonding

/ Management of Contractors; Lookout/protection man and MICTA.

MAIN ACCOUNTALBILITIES

1. / Responsible for the examination / inspection reporting of the Overhead Head Line System and associated Power Supply equipment of allocated lengths of route at frequencies laid down by the Engineering Manager PSOHL.
2. / To ensure all inspections are in compliance with current / future Power Supply standards, health and safety legislation, related method statement and safe systems of work.
3. / To ensure all administration is completed correctly, recorded and submitted within the relevant time scales.
4. / To maintain all relevant records on maintenance management system.
5. / Provide technical backup within roles and responsibility.
6. / There may be a requirement to temporarily deputise to next line of management structure where applicable.
7. / There may be a requirement to return to work for emergencies / incidents (voluntary) unless on a scheduled roster stand by / on call duty.
8. / When required to undertake all Overhead Line Maintainers Duties
