Translator and interpreter (simultaneous, consecutive and text translations), from English to Spanish and Spanish to English, as well as editor in both languages with a wide experience. Ability to work fast and effectively, producing translations and final texts that are comprehensible and useful for the client while staying faithful to the original text or material.

2003– to this date:
On February 2004 I was promoted to Editor-in-Chief (Editorial Director) for Motor Trend en español, a car-industry magazine. Now I am fully responsible for the whole process of the magazine, from supervising translators (and translating myself), to the final pre-press.
On March 2004 I was appointed as Executive Editor for Newsweek en español. This involves the revision, editing and correction of translations for publishing. Most of the articles I have edited/corrected have been criticized in the reports we receive as good or excellent.
On January 2004 I was appointed as Executive Editor for Motor Trend en español. I performed between 50% and 65% of the translations of materials sent from Primedia in Los Angeles. I also edited and corrected the translations from the other translator and I’m responsible for all steps before sending the magazine to the printer.
Started as translator for Newsweek en español in November 2003. I received the materials to be translated during the night on Saturdays and sent it to the editors on Sunday morning.
Simultaneous translator for diverse companies at their events. These companies include: Schedule Masters, ADO, IVU Systems, Micro Bus, ING Financial Group, HSBC, Mexican Government offices, Abbot Laboratories, Radisson Hotels and Resorts, Vulcan Industries, plus approximately 25 other clients during the same period, including several marketing Focus Groups.
During this period, I also did many text translations from a wide variety of clients, including Microsoft, different restaurants, a luxury furniture company, health-care and medical institutions, Yamaha, Mexican government agencies, and more.
1999 – 2002:
Translation and editing of a presentation from the Star Alliance magazine, which is distributed in planes from different companies that form the Star Alliance fleet.
Translation and editing of informational material for the Family Integration Department of the Mexican Government.
Translation and editing of several Operation Manuals for high-tech and professional audio and video systems, including the following clients: Audiovox, CurtisMathes, Digidesign, Harman Kardon, Infinity, Marantz, Polk Audio, as well as AT&T and VTech. Approximately 195,000 words in total.
Transcription, translation and editing of three taped bilateral conferences between the US Immigration and Naturalization Service, the US State Department and the Mexican Ministry of Exterior with the subject of immigration and security measures stemming from the events that occurred in New York on September 11, 2001. Approximately 24,000 words.
Transcription, translation and editing of a briefing lecture for Mexican Consulate Officers in the US regarding legal procedures to assist Mexican immigrants sentenced to the death penalty. Approximately 9,500 words.
Translation of documents and contracts for SABAN International (now belonging to Disney) regarding licenses and use of characters in theater plays in Mexico.
Interpreter for Mr. Eric Karp and Mr. Bruce Bridges, from SABAN International during their visits to Mexico.
Translation of documents and letters for the ecological development at Xcacel-Xcacelito in Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Translation and editing of two wine guides with the best red and white wines for later publication in a Wine Guide. Approximately 4,000 words.
Translation and editing of two manuals for hydraulic and air brake systems for heavy-duty trucks. Approximately 90,000 words.
Translation and editing of two programming manuals for Panja Systems. The subject is related to computer equipments to control diverse applications. Approximately 120,000 words.
Transcription and translation of three videotapes from the Ford Motor Company Training Division to train personnel on repairs of electrical and fuel injection systems. Approximately 185,000 words.

1998 – 1999:
Translation and editing of diverse materials for about 25 clients, averaging 450,000 words.
1992 – 1997:
Translation and voice-over for several educational videocassettes for Spanish speaking students. In a three-year period I translated and recorded my voice in about 25 videotapes. That averaged around 500,000 words.
Translator for Mr. Dennis Clark, President of the Citizen’s Commission for Human Rights at different TV and press presentations.
