3. Read the following paragraph. As you read, determine if each sentence is
declarative, interrogative, imperative, or exclamatory. Then complete the assignment
below.
1. We hiked to the summit of Mt. Owen. 2. The trail began as a fairly easy stroll, but we had walked only
a few minutes when we started to climb the side of the mountain. 3. Halfway there, we stopped under a
rock overhang to have a snack. 4. How great that peanut butter sandwich tasted! 5. "Would you please
pass the water?" 6. Even tepid water felt good to my dry throat. 7. After resting, we hiked further up the
mountain. 8. “Get me a walking stick.” 9. Kent picked out a section of a small fallen tree and handed it to
me. 10. Finally, we made it to the top. 11. “What a spectacular view!” 12. At least the trail down will be
easier.
