GUIDELINES
for
CONTRACTOR EXCELLENCE AWARD
PART ONE: OBJECTIVES
1. To encourage contractor participation in exercising high standard of Quality Management System
2. To encourage contactor to provide adequate and high quality services to the industry
3. To promote contractor to ensure safety as their main priority in daily activities at work place
4. To encourage contractor to continuously enhance staff education and competency.
PART TWO: Pre-qualification Eligibility Criteria
1. The company must be registered with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) for at least:
i. 10 years for electrical contractor; or
ii. 5 years for gas contractor

Part Four: Criteria Specifications
1. Contractor Performance Record and Safety Management System [Max. 7
pages]
Description and the summary list of the company’s performance record and safety management system which comprise the following:
· Accident record
· Working procedure (eg. standard operating procedure)
· Safety procedure at work place
2. Technical Capability [Max. 3 pages]
Description and the summary list on numbers of competent person and equipment / tools owned and used
3. Contribution to the Energy Industry [Max. 5 pages]
Description and summary list of the company contribution and involvement to the energy industry in the following areas:
· Involvement in developing standard
· Involvement in developing guidelines
· Involvement in developing module syllabus
· Involvement in energy related awareness programmes (eg. seminar, forum, workshop, exhibition, etc)
· Collaboration or memorandum of understanding (MOU) with industry/institution/government or private agency
4. Industry Recognition [Max. 2 pages]
List of awards and recognitions received related to the electrical/gas services at the following level:
· Local
· International
5. Publication [Max. 3 pages]
Description and summary list of the contribution on publication to the energy industry such as:
· Publication
· Guidelines
· Brochure
· Website
Part five: Energy Technical Committee (Chaired by ST)
1. Energy Technical Committee (ETC) will comprise representative from the following organizations:
· KeTTHA
· EPU
· ST
· SEDA Malaysia
· MGTC
· CIDB
· MYPOWER
· Persatuan Penjana Bebas
· FMM
· TEEAM
· UiTM
ETC will be responsible for pre-qualification assessment, final evaluation and nomination of Contractor Excellence Award winner to KeTTHA Industry Awards (KIA) Steering Committee.
