End of Trimester One Update

Dear parents,

End of Trimester One Update:

·  The MOE - Bridge to Success book for the first trimester is being completed.

·  Students will be assessed on the four skills- listening, speaking, reading and writing.

·  The first set of continuous assessment s (CA1) has been completed.

·  The final assessments are going on.

·  Please refer to the unit wise vocabulary list at the end of the Learner’s Book when preparing for the exams.

·  An ‘Assessment Box’ in the last lesson of every unit gives an overview of what is included in every unit.

·  ‘Handwriting’ and ‘Read Aloud’ competitions were conducted. The winners will be announced shortly.

·  Selection of candidates for the ‘Spelling Bee’ is being made. The selected students will be informed before the end of the term. The competitions will be held in the second term.

·  National Day was celebrated on the 29th of November. Programs highlighting the heritage of the UAE were conducted.

·  Martyr’s Day was observed on the 30th of November.

·  Students have compiled their own set of questions for a quiz on ‘Haweyati’ (My Identity). The quiz will be conducted in the second term. Parents are requested to encourage their wards to research further for any information related to the UAE.

Parents are reminded to continue to encourage their wards to take up reading as a hobby.
