Director of Nursing

Minimum Education/ Experience:

Licensed Registered Nurse or Family Nurse Practitioner with at least five years of supervisory experience. Must be able to demonstrate clinical skills. Work experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities and medically fragile children and adults preferred. Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) experience preferred. Strong leadership, interpersonal and leadership skills required. Valid NC Driver’s License required.

Brief Description of Work Performed:

Tammy Lynn Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1969. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated RN or FNP to join our team. Oversee, direct and support a team of 25+ nurses in intermediate care and community residential settings. Work as a part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure the appropriate medical, emotional, personal care and support is provided to the individuals we serve. Serve as a member of Senior Leadership Team and participate in the strategic direction of the agency. Continuous oversight of all health care policies, procedures and services are executed thoroughly and with a high degree of quality, including, but not limited to: medication administration, treatment procedures, daily evaluation/assessments of health care needs of clients, and maintenance of a safe and clean work environment. Assist in ensuring that appropriate services are provided for clients (i.e., medical, dental, pharmacy, laboratory, and restorative services). Provide nursing and medical consultation for clients. Act as liaison/coordinator for medical director. Plan for nursing coverage and participate in coverage when necessary to ensure adequate nursing staff at all times. Maintain nursing schedule. Participate in on-call system to ensure availability of administrative and clinical consultation to nurses on 24-hour basis. Help manage the implementation of an EHR; comply with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Serve on various committees and provide support to various departments.

Hours/Days of Work: full time, exempt position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This positions can require more than 40 hours per week, including nights and weekends, depending upon agency needs. Weekly schedule must be flexible to meet the needs of the individuals and families served, on call responsibilities.

Pay Rate: Full time, exempt position, Salary DOE. Excellent health and retirement benefits package
