Emerson’s AMS Suite expands scope by adding support for PROFIBUS DP assets
French language version of AMS Suite: Intelligent Device Manager enables users to take better advantage of predictive diagnostics to ensure asset reliability and availability
Emerson Process Management has released AMS Suite: Intelligent Device Manager v11.1.1 in a French language version. Version 11 extends Emerson’s asset management leadership by adding PROFIBUS DP v1 asset support when used with the DeltaV™ digital automation system. Also included in the release is support for current and past versions of DeltaV and Ovation™ systems and connectivity to Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 host systems.
AMS Device Manager is a key component of the PlantWeb™ digital plant architecture and helps users streamline maintenance procedures by providing a single application for managing all field devices using HART®, FOUNDATION fieldbus, PROFIBUS DP, and IEC 62591 (WirelessHART®) communications. By having a central point to actively manage all asset information, users can take better advantage of predictive diagnostics to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
A user-centric interface within AMS Device Manager, called Device Dashboards, deliversclear asset status diagnostics and expert guidance to streamline important and frequently-performed tasks. Maintenance technicians receive more in-depth information to solve device issues easily.
The broad list of instrumentation and valves supported by AMS Device Manager expands again through the protocol support for PROFIBUS DP assets. Users can now communicate with motor starters, motor control centres, drives, and other high value equipment, accessing diagnostics and configurations for more assets than ever before.
AMS Device Manager continues to supportEmerson’s distributed control systems. Recently released Ovation v3.3 and DeltaV v11, including the recently announced S-Series hardware, CHARMs I/O cards, redundant wireless, and native wireless I/O cards, are fully supported as host systems for AMS Device Manager.
Users of Emerson's Guardian Support will now be able to benefit from the incorporation of the French language version of AMS Device Manager. Guardian enables users to receive support content that is matched to their individual system. Customised content includes knowledge base articles, Microsoft® updates, system updates, and open support calls. Guardian users extract the most performance from their system with the lowest life-cycle cost and maximum process availability. Guardian is available for the DeltaV digital automation system, Ovation expert control system, and standalone AMS Suite users.
