OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

  1. ELIGIBILITY: The “Embassy Suites 20th Anniversary Wedding Give-A-Way” (“the Contest”) is open to two-person couples, each member of which:
  2. Is a citizen of the United States; and
  3. Is 21 years of age or older at the time of entry; and
  4. Is ready, willing and able to be lawfully married on the date specified by Sponsor, in a wedding arranged by Sponsor as set forth below; and
  5. Is of good moral character, has never been convicted of a crime of any nature (other than a misdemeanor that did not involve personal injury, drugs or alcohol); andis willing to comply in full with these Official Rules and all other terms and conditions of the Contest (available at: ); and
  6. Must be able to make the necessary time commitment to plan, promote and participate in the wedding before, during and after the actual ceremony;
  7. Is willing to be married at the Embassy Suites Detroit – Livonia/Novi;
  8. Is available and willing to be married on the wedding date selected by Sponsor, that being September 5, 2010;

In addition to the above criteria, at least one member of the couple must be a legal resident of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, or WashtenawCounty.

Each couple, the members of which are in full compliance with the above criteria, shall be referenced herein as an “Entrant” or, collectively with other such couples, as “Entrants.” Each member of an Entrant must be willing to sign an affidavit attesting to the truth of all facts stated in such Entrant’s entry and accompanying materials (described below) and further attesting to the fact that the Entrant meets all eligibility requirements stated above and herein.
Employees and consultants of Embassy Suites Detroit – Livonia/Novi(“Sponsor”) and all vendorsthat have agreed to supply goods or services in association with the Contest (“Contest Vendors”) and/or any of their respective affiliates, parent, or subsidiaries of any such individuals or entities, and their respective immediate family members, are not eligible to enter or win the Contest. For purposes of these Official Contest Rules “immediate family members” is defined as parents, spouses, former spouses, children, grandchildren, dependents, or siblings of the employee in question. All determinations of eligibility shall be made by Sponsor in its sole discretion. By submitting an Entry each member of each Entrant agrees that he/she has read and consents to be bound by and comply with these Official Contest Rules at the time of submission and throughout the Contest.

  1. HOW TO ENTER: The Contest will begin on May 1, 2010 at 12:01 a.m. (ET) and will end on June 30, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. (ET) (the “Submission Period”). During the Submission Period, an Entry may be submitted in one of three ways:

  1. Entrants may visit Sponsor’s booth at the Livonia Chamber Business Expo to be held on May 13, 2010 between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. at Burton Manor Banquet and Conference Center and hand deliver their Entry to Sponsor.

Postage for Entries submitted via U.S. mail is the sole responsibility of Entrant. Normal Internet access and usage charges imposed by your online service provider will apply to Website submissions and will be Entrant’s sole responsibility. Any fees incurred by Entrant for admission into the Livonia Business Chamber Expo are also the sole responsibility of Entrant.

All entries submitted via U.S.mail must be post-marked no later than June 30, 2010. All entries submitted on the Website must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2010. The Website's database clock will be the official timekeeper for electronically submitted entries. For purposes of these Official Rules, all times are Eastern Time. Limit one Entry per Entrant. If a subsequent Entry is received for a member of Entrant with another person, all Entries will be discarded and deemed void. If a subsequent Entry is received for the same Entrant, only one Entry will be used and the remainder discarded and deemed void. In the event one or more Entries are discarded, the Sponsor, in its discretion, will select the Entry that will be used (e.g., by order in time received, randomly, first viewed, or any other means or method Sponsor chooses at any given time without regard for consistency between Entries or Entrants). Incomplete Entries will not be deemed valid Entries. All Entries (whether complete or incomplete) are and shall at all times remain Sponsor's property as of the time submitted and will not be returned or acknowledged.

  1. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
  2. Entry Form. Entrants must complete and submit the Contest Entry Form (the “Entry Form”). TheEntry Form will be available online at Paper copies will also be available at Sponsor’s booth at the Livonia Chamber Business Expo and at the Embassy Suites Detroit – Livonia/Novi, 19525 Victor Parkway, Livonia, MI48152;
  1. Video Submission. Along with the Entry Form, each Entrant must submit a video, no more than three (3) minutes in length in which you tell us your story and why you should be selected to win the Contest. All Entries that are hand delivered or mailed must be submitted on compact disk (CD), digital video disk (DVD), or a flash drive and must be no longer than three (3) minutes in length. All Entries submitted via a YouTubelink must be no larger than 2 GB in size, nor longer than three (3) minutes in length and e-mailed to: . All submission must be properly labeled with the last name of the bride and last name of the groom (Smith/Jones).
  1. No Illegal, Offensive or Inappropriate Content: The Entry must not, in the discretion and judgment of the Sponsor, contain words, images or statements considered offensive to individuals of any age, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation or other protected class, or who are disabled; contain any threats to any person, place, business, group or entity, or contain material that is unlawful; contain materials that promote bigotry, racisms, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on age, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation or other protected class, or disability; contain any materials that depict illegal acts, are sexually explicit, libelous, obscene, violent, hateful, slanderous; orcontain other inappropriate content which includes, but not limited to, any display of smoking, alcohol, illegal drugs, firearms, harming of animals, nudity, provocative/suggestive outfits or poses.
  1. No Infringement. The content of the Entry must not infringe any person’s or entity’s rights (including, without limitation, intellectual property rights) in any way, including without limitation, the use, without permission, of any copyrighted material, trademarks, logos, company names, labels, symbols, store or building facades, music, photographs, works of art, or images that have been created, distributed, aired or published in any media.
  1. Automatic Disqualification: In the event any Entry does not effectively meet these Requirements, the Sponsor will disqualify and discard the Entry either immediately or at any time during the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to remove any Entry that does not meet these Requirements.
  1. RIGHTS IN SUMBISSION/PUBLICITY RIGHTS: In consideration of an Entry being reviewed and evaluated for this Contest, each member hereby irrevocably assigns and transfers all rights, title and interest in the Entry to Sponsor, including, without limitation, all copyrights, and all rights incidental, subsidiary, ancillary or allied thereto (including, without limitation, all moral rights and all derivative rights) in and to the Entry, in perpetuity, by means of any and all media and devices whether now known or hereafter devised. Each member of the Entrant agrees to execute any documents that Sponsor may require to effect such transfer of right. Each Entrant understands that his or her name may be posted on the Website in connection with the Contest. By entering the Contest, the Entrant (and each member of such Entrant) consents to the use of all information in the Entry, including, without limitation, each member’s name, likeness, city of residence and other information, for any and all publicity, or promotional purposes as Sponsor may select in its discretion. Each Entrant agrees and acknowledges that participation in the Contest, including without limitation, the Entrant’s decision to provide the Entry to Sponsor for purposes of the Contest, shall not give rise to any confidential, fiduciary, implied-in-fact, implied-in-law, or other special relationship between Sponsor and Entrant, and that the only contracts, express or implied, between Sponsor and Entrant is as set forth in these Official Contest Rules. Except as required by law or permitted pursuant to these Official Contest Rules, Sponsor will not share an Entrant’s information with any third parties.

Other than to announce the prize winners, Sponsor shall have no obligation (express or implied) to use any Entry, regardless of whether or not a prize-winning Entry, in any advertising, merchandising, promotion or publication.

  1. CONTEST SCORING: Representatives chosen by Sponsor (the “Judges”) will select all prize winners from the Entries. The decisions of the Judges are final and binding on all matters relating to the selection of winners. Entrants will be judged on the following criteria in the Judges’ sole and unfettered discretion:
  1. Compelling nature of Entrant’s story (1 to 10 points);
  2. Originality and creativity of Entrant’s presentation (1 to 10 points);
  3. How well the Entrant is viewed as being able to promote and uphold Sponsor’s image (1 to 5points); and
  4. Five (5) bonus points will be added to the total score of all Entrants who visit Sponsor’s booth at the Livonia Chamber Expo on May 13, 2010.

Each Entry will be given a score by the Judges based on the above criteria. The Entry with the highest score will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner; the Entries with the next-highest scores will be deemed the Second and Third Prize winners. In the event of a tie, the Entry with the highest score in theoriginality and creativity category will be deemed the winner from among the tying Entries with the highest total score. If ties still remain, an Entrantwho received bonus points for visiting Sponsor’s booth at the Livonia Chamber Business Expo will be deemed the winner from among the tying Entries with the same score in the first bullet point above. If ties still remain, the tying Entries will be re-judged using the same criteria. All Entries and scores will be retained until eligible winners are chosen for all prizes.

  1. PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES: ONE (1) GRAND PRIZEwill be awarded to the Entrant selected as the Grand Prize Winner. The Grand Prize will consist of a wedding valued at approximately Fifteen Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($15,000) as described below. ONE (1) SECOND PRIZE: A Bridal Shower for up to 35 people at the Embassy Suites Hotel Livonia; TWO (2) THIRD PRIZES: a one night stay at Embassy Suites Detroit – Novi/Livonia in a Presidential Suite (hotel stay is subject to room availability).

The Grand Prize wedding will be held on September 5, 2010 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 19525 Victor

Parkway, Livonia, MI48152 (the “Wedding Venue”) and will include the items outlined below.

  • A wedding ceremony at the Wedding Venue for up to one hundred fifty (150) people;
  • A brunch reception at the Wedding Venueto include food, non-alcoholic beverages for up to one hundred fifty (150) people;
  • A three tier wedding cake from a selection of styles proved by the baker;
  • DJ entertainment up to 4 hours of service;
  • Wedding flowers including one (1) bridal bouquet, one (1) boutonnieres for the groom; and up to 18 centerpieces from a selection of styles provided by florist;
  • Chair covers and table linens for up to 150 people from a selection of styles provided by vendor;
  • Hair styling services for the bride and up to (4) bridesmaids the day of the wedding;
  • Professional make-up services for the bride and up to (4) bridesmaids the day of the wedding;
  • A car for the Grand Prize Winner’s use from for one (1) week;
  • A four (4) day honeymoon to the location(s)selected by Sponsor; and
  • Hotel accommodations at the Wedding Venue for the couple on the night of September 5, 2010.

Additional or different features may be requested by the Grand Prize Winner, however, such additions will be the financial responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner. In addition to the requirements listed elsewhere in these Official Rules, if you are declared the Grand Prize Winner, both members of the Entrant must be willing to make themselves available to attend meetings and engage in public appearances and photo shoots, as requested by Sponsor, and to make themselves available for an interview and/or appearances at the discretion of Sponsor following the Wedding.

  1. TAXES: All expenses not specifically mentioned herein are not included and are the sole responsibility of theGrand Prize Winner. Prizes consist of only those items specifically listed as part of that particular prize. Sponsor reserves the right in its discretion for any reason or no reason, to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Taxes and fees, if any, are the sole responsibility of prize winners. In the event that any portion of any prize is canceled or postponed for any reason, Sponsor will have no obligation to award compensation in lieu thereof, and the remainder of the prize will be awarded. Limit one prize per Entrant.
  1. VERIFICATION OF WINNERS AND AWARD OF PRIZES: After judging to select prize winners is complete, the Grand Prize Winner will be notified at the contact information provided on the Entry Form. Once the Grand Prize Winner has been verified, the Second Prize Winner will be notified. Once the Second Prize Winner is verified, the Third Prize Winner will be notified. All prize winners may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability (the “Affidavit”). All prize winners will be notified no later than July 19, 2010. Any prize may be awarded to an alternate winner with the next highest scoreif a winner refuses to execute or fails to return the Affidavit to Sponsor within five (5) business days after winner receives the documents.
  1. RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION: By entering the Contest, each member of each Entrant agrees that Sponsor, and any participating prize providers, as well as any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agencies (collectively, the "Promotion Entities") are not responsible or liable for, and shall bereleased and held harmless from any and all claims, demands and liabilities arising out of or relating to the Contest, Entrant’s (and each individual member of Entrant’s) participation in the Contest and/or any Contest-related activity, including, without limitation, from winner's use or misuse of a prize or any portion thereof. Prize winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Contest. Each member of each Entrant further agrees that the Promotion Entities are not responsible or liable for and shall be released and held harmless from: (i) late, lost, delayed, damaged, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, misdirected or otherwise undeliverable mail, postage-due notices, release forms, affidavits or other correspondence; (ii) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Sponsor that may cause the Contest to be disrupted; (iv) any printing, human, typographical or other errors or ambiguities in or involving any materials associated with the Contest; (v) any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and action of any kind in connection with or resulting from participation in the Contest; (vi) claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
  1. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to adjust times and dates reflected in these Official Rules at any time and/or to suspend or cancel the Contest at any time for any reason, including, without limitation, technical difficulties, acts of God, and other events not within the reasonable control of Sponsor. If the Contest is terminated before the designated end date, Sponsor will select the winners from all eligible Entries received as of the date of the event giving rise to termination. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any person who tampers or is suspected of tampering with an Entry.

Winners lists will be sent to requestors and winners’ names also will be posted on the Website after selection and verification of all prize winners.
  1. PRIVACY POLICY: By entering this Contest, you grant Sponsor permission to share your e-mail address and contact information with all Contest Vendors.
