You may apply for one or more of the following Committee Chair Positions: On to International Convention (OTIC) Chair,Fall Rally Chair, District Convention Chair, Spring Officers Training (SpOT) Chair, Technology Chair, Public Relations Chair, Membership Development and Education Chair, Laws & Regulations Chair,Kiwanis Family Relations Chair, and Service Chair for the 2017-2018 year.

Questions for ALL Applicants

1.Please explain the history of your involvement in Circle K International and the K-Family. If applicable, please provide positions held and approximate dates.

2.Do you have access to a car during the school year?

3.Can you attend District Board Training – which will take place over a weekend in May, to be determined - in Newark, Ohio?

4.Please explain why you are interested in the position(s), and any qualifications you would like to share.

On to International Convention (OTIC) Chair – Responsible for promoting attendance of Ohio District Circle K members at CKIx.

  1. How do you plan on promoting CKIx to the members of the District?
  1. What do you think is the biggest experience CKI members gain by attending CKIx?

Fall Rally Chair – Organizes the 2017Fall Rally conference; must have previously attended a Fall Rally.

1.What new ideas (such as themes or activities) do you have for Fall Rally?

2.How would you promote Fall Rally to the officers and members of the Ohio District? What incentives would you suggest to encourage attendance?

3.With Fall Rally being in October 2017, give a brief description of the timetable for preparation you would use starting now and going through the year.

4.Who do you think should attend Fall Rally? (Just officers, club committee chairs, Kiwanis advisers?) Explain.

District Convention Chair – Organizes the 2018 District Convention; must have previously attended a District Convention.

  1. What new ideas (such as themes or workshops) do you have for District Convention?
  1. How would you promote District Convention to the officers and members of the Ohio District? What incentives would you suggest to encourage attendance?
  1. With District Convention being in February or March 2018, give a brief description of the timetable for preparation you would use starting now and going through the next year.

Spring Officers Training (SpOT) Chair – Organizes the 2018 Officer Training conference; must have previously attended a SpOT.

1.What new ideas (such as themes or activities) do you have for SpOT?

2.How would you promote SpOT to the officers and members of the Ohio District? What incentives would you suggest to encourage attendance?

3.With SpOT being in April 2018, give a brief description of the timetable for preparation you would use starting now and going through the year.

4.Who do you think should attend SpOT? (Just officers, club committee chairs, Kiwanis advisers?) Explain.

Technology Chair – Responsible for the website and electronic communication of the District.

1.What experience do you have with developing/managing a website or blog? (If you can, include a URL of a website you have worked on or created.)

2.Looking at the website now, ( what major suggestions would you like to implement?

3.Other than the website, what suggestions do you have for increasing the use of technology for the Ohio District? (Please include how you would use social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter.)

4.What steps would you take to help the clubs build and advance their own websites to help their clubs improve communication?

Public Relations Chair – Assists clubs with marketing ideas.

1.What are some new suggestions for marketing CKI that you would adopt or modify?

2.How might you respond to a club asking for marketing assistance?

3.Give a brief description of how you would market both club and district events throughout the year.

Membership Development and Education Chair – Assist clubs with membership retention ideas.

  1. The District and International have access to many resources and guides on recruiting, marketing and education. What are some ways you would communicate and educate clubs on these?
  1. Explain your method of prioritizing what to educate new CKI members on about our organization? (Such as pushing the scholarship and resume building qualities first, leadership opportunities, networking, etc.)
  1. How would you respond to clubs asking for assistance with recruitment and/or membership retention?
  1. How will you improve membership from Key Club to Circle K?

Laws, Regulations and Awards Chair – Suggesting updates to District bylaws and policy codes, and updating award and candidate packets. (Bylaws:andPolicy Codes

  1. Have you worked with club constitutions/bylaws and legal language before? Please explain.
  1. Are you familiar with the Ohio District and International bylaws and policies, or would you be willing to study up on them for this position?
  1. Are there any specific CKI policies or bylaws you would like to see changed?

Kiwanis Family Relations Chair – Increase connections with the other branches of the Kiwanis Family throughout the Ohio District.

1.What goals would you have for improving Kiwanis Family relations throughout the Ohio District and beyond?

2.How would you improve and/or change programs such as Key 2 College (K2C) and Kiwanis Career Connections (KC2)?

3.What would you like your relationship to be with the Kiwanis and Key Club district and club officers throughout Ohio?

4.How will you ensure consistent communication throughout the year between the District and their Kiwanis Family counterparts?

5.How will you work to improv the Kiwanis Family Map and keep it up to date?

Service Chair – Responsible for promotion of international service partners and events and providing clubs with any necessary service information/resources.

  1. What goals would you have for improving District and club involvement with International service partners?
  1. What are some ways you would communicate District and International service resources to clubs?
  1. How would you respond to a club asking for assistance with new service project ideas?
