EM Microelectronic’s EMBC01 Bluetooth Smart beacons liveat CES 2015

Largest deployment of multi-protocol beacons will provide CES attendees with indoor navigation. This unique beacon setupwill includeEM’s latest, lowest power and fully certified EMBC01 technology.

Marin, Switzerland – January5th,2015 –Today, EM Microelectronic, theultra-low power semiconductorcompany of the Swatch Groupand a world-leading supplier ofBluetooth®Smart products,announced that approximately 500 EMBC01Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) proximity beacons have been installed throughout the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) exhibit halls in Las Vegas, within the largest-ever deployment of multi-protocol beacons. This unique beacon setup will support the official CES Appfor providingattendees with indoor navigation and enhanced mobile information services on both iOS™ and Android™ smartphones.

EMBC01beacons are tiny, low-cost, flexible BLE beaconsoptimized for ultra-low power consumption and long range. EMBC01is completely programmable and capable of supporting multiple protocols, such asiBeacon™,and AltBeacon™ as well as any other proprietary beacon protocol in a single beacon. EMBC01is FCC/CE/IC certified and comes in a sleek, weatherproof (IP-64) housing. An integrated pushbutton and red/green LEDs maximize battery lifetime and convenience. With such features, the EMBC01 beacon is the ideal beacon device – easy to deploy right out of the box– for providing micro-location context awareness on most smartphones and enable innovative indoor navigation and context-sensitive messaging, thus enriching visitors’ experience at CES 2015.
