JOB TITLE:Corporate and Major Donor Manager
ACCOUNTABLE TO:Head of Fundraising
OVERALL OBJECTIVES
The Corporate and Major Donor Manager will be responsible for devising and implementing a successful programme of fundraising from the corporate and major donor sector to an agreed annual target. This will include securing corporate grants, Charity of the Year applications, sponsorship of events and products and general donations from the corporate sector as well as new Philanthropy Circle members from the major donor sector.
POST SPECIFICATION
Main Responsibilities
To:
- Identify and build relationships with prospective premium donors through appropriate research, utilising sector publications, online sources, local/trade publications, donorflex and telephone calls/networks.
- To develop a fundraising plan to provide sustainable income through Corporates and Major Donors as an integral part of the charity’s overall fundraising programme and targets.
- To forge long-term, tailored, mutually beneficial relationships with corporate and major donor supporters and raise funds towards the ongoing work of ellenor
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of companies as part of this programme and take responsibility for delivering and developing our plans for securing new income from businesses by identifying growth areas and opportunities within the corporate sector.
- Develop a long-term strategy for Corporate Giving and COTY applications within the corporate arena.
- Monitor CSR/Corporate Responsibility issues in the media, and keep up to date with professional fundraising associations and media regarding fundraising tools and skills development.
- To develop professional, engaging solicitation proposals and undertake presentations and pitches as required.
- To develop and write funding proposals, corporate applications and reports to a high standard.
- To manage relationships with supporters and maintain a high level of supporter care.
- Track, analyse and report on fundraising results, manage and report performance using agreed performance measures.
- Work closely with the events team to maximise corporate contacts leverage and manage corporate participation in the events programme.
- Actively seek sponsorship to support ellenor’s care and events, working closely with care and fundraising teams.
- To continue to raise the profile of ellenor by networking at appropriate events and secure new introductions with the potential to generate income

- Report any issues/problems/challenges to your line manager
- Be aware of and comply with all ellenor statutory policies and procedures as appropriate.
- Provide accurate verbal and written reports as required.
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained with particular reference to the environment, equipment and vehicles.
Education, Training, Research and Personal Development
To:
- Participate in the Hospice wide appraisal system.
- Identify own learning needs and participate in the planning, development and implementation of a personal development plan.
- Attend mandatory training as requested.
- Participate in in-service education programmes as appropriate.
Corporate Governance
To:
- Participate in the Hospice corporate governance programme as required.
General
- To be aware of the philosophy of ellenor and to behave as a fit representative
- To abide by the Hospices general confidentiality policy
- To be aware of guidelines stated in staff handbook and all relevant policies and procedures
- To undertake bi-annual performance review when personal development plan will be discussed
- To attend statutory and specialised training when required
