Graduate students at Rutgers School of Nursing are invited to submit applications for the Elizabeth M. Fenlason Award.

3.  Provide one written reference from a Graduate Program Nursing faculty member who teaches your area of specialization. Provide the faculty person the attached description to use as a guide for writing the letter. Have reference letter sent to:

Elizabeth M. Fenlason Award

DESIGN: The award was established by the Rutgers College of Nursing Alumni Association in April 1977 as an endowed fund. The award is administered by the Rutgers University Foundation as fiscal agent, with the Fenlason Award Committee serving as liaison for selection. Preference is given to Rutgers School of Nursing alumni.

PURPOSE: The award will provide financial support to selected current graduate students pursuing Rutgers University.

QUALITIES SOUGHT: In selecting recipients, the Committee will give special attention to evidence that supports the applicant’s committed to graduate education in nursing; evidence of motivation, discipline, and purpose required for success in graduate school; evidence of academic accomplishments and intellectual ability; evidence of personal characteristics that will contribute to constructive relationships with peers and professional colleagues; evidence of the human sensibilities without which the applicants career can be narrow and technical; and evidence of concern for the relationship of ethical and moral values to individual and academic life.

ELIGIBILTY: Applicants must have:

1.  Baccalaureate or Master’s Degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited institution.

2.  Evidence of completion of at least 12 graduate credits in a Rutgers Graduate Program in Nursing.

3.  Citizenship in the United States of hold a permanent resident visa.
