Provide a brief description of the project and its activities:

This project is vital to the implementation of redevelopment & revitalization plans for the Elizabethport neighborhood. Itwill contain approximately 31 unitsof one-bedroom low income senior housing and approximately 3759 sq. ft. of commercial space. It will compliment the existing HOPE VI units in the neighborhood and serve as the last phase of the HOPE VI initiative. The building design will be consistent with Energy Star and the NJHMFA Green Future Program, with green design strategies and design techniques. This project is well underway and scheduled for completion by March 2011.

What outcomes are anticipated from completingthe project and its activities?

These funds will assist with completing the buildingand furnishing the commercial space to allow EDC to move its corporate office operations to E'port and assist with streetscape to enhance lighting and security. This project will help stimulate additional commercial development and investment in the E'port neighborhood, by creating jobs and ratables for the City.
