ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAST / PARENT / DIRECTOR CONTRACT
Every student who is part of the cast or crew for this production must thoroughly review the following contract and return this sheet, signed by both the student and their parent/guardian NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 30, 2014.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. I AGREE to accept my position as either cast or crew member in SCAPA Bluegrass’ production of Annie Jr..
2. I UNDERSTAND that this is a professional undertaking and requires my professionalism.
3. I AGREE to abide by any rules set forth by the director, Ms. Labrillazo.
4. I UNDERSTAND that it is a privilege to perform and work at the Lexington Opera House. I will treat both the facility and its staff with the utmost respect and goodwill. I will not engage in horseplay or inappropriate behavior at any time.
5. I AGREE to work during designated rehearsal times and to memorize dances/and or songs and work on blocking to the best of my ability.
6. I AGREE to promptly attend all rehearsals to which I am called unless I have received permission to be absent from Ms. Labrillazo.
7. I AGREE to stay in the rehearsal space unless given special permission to leave.
8. I AGREE to maintain my grades and conduct in school. I will not allow my involvement in this production to be an excuse to fall behind in my class work. (SCAPA requires a current minimum2.5 or above overall GPA, a 3.0 or above in Arts majors and minors, and an S in Conduct. (SCAPA BG Policy 8.1, Event Participation Occurring During Normal School Hours, is attached and incorporated herein.)
9. I AGREE to look over and clear my schedule to accommodate any rehearsals to which I am called during “tech week” and all performances.
10. I UNDERSTAND that I will arrive on time and be prepared for all performances, I WILL NOT leave during the middle of a show, and my parents are not allowed backstage unless they are a designated committee worker.
11. I UNDERSTAND that there will be some costs incurred by each student (i.e. costumes, t-shirt, one-liners, cast party, etc.)
12. I UNDERSTAND that my parents must volunteer for this production in some way.
13. I UNDERSTAND my energy level will be depleted at the end of the day, and my parents have agreed to provide food for me during after-school rehearsals.
14. I UNDERSTAND I am not allowed to be dropped off for rehearsals or performances before the designated arrival time. I UNDERSTAND this rule is in place for my safety.
15. I UNDERSTAND that school performances take place during part of SCAPA’S school day and I WILL ride the bus or with my parent/guardian designated parent transporter at the end of the performance back to school. I WILL NOT “take the rest of the day off” if school is still in session.
16. I UNDERSTAND that during all rehearsals and performances, the Director, Teachers, and designated Parent Volunteers are the officials that I must respect. I ALSO AGREE to work in a collaborative manner with all individuals involved, and treat everyone with respect. Any question and/or problems about the production shall be addressed to mailto:.
I HAVE READ AND AGREE TO FOLLOW THE RULES LAID OUT IN THE CAST/CREW CONTRACT AND UNDERSTAND THAT FAILURE TO FOLLOW ANY OF THE RULES MAY RESULT, AT THE DIRECTOR’S DISCRETION, IN MY REMOVAL FROM THIS PRODUCTION

SCAPA SBDM POLICY 8.1
Event Participation Occurring During
Normal School Hours
Student participation requirements for activities occurring during normal instructional hours that are not for a grade.
A.A student must maintain satisfactory academic performance to audition or be considered for participation in an event occurring during normal school hours that is not for a grade:
1.A student must maintain a current* overall minimum academic class and core content class GPA of 2.5; and
(* Current is defined as the last quarterly report card and weekly grade checks from each teacher between the last quarterly report card and the last Friday before the event. Both the last quarterly report card and all weekly grade reports must meet the GPA minimum requirements.)
2.A student must maintain a current* overall minimum class GPA of 3.0 in his/her arts major and minor.
•The Student Assistance Team (SAT) may recommend that a student with whom they are already working be allowed to participate under an individualized agreement.
(* Current is defined as the last quarterly report card and weekly grade checks from each teacher between the last quarterly report card and the last Friday before the event. Both the last quarterly report card and all weekly grade reports must meet the GPA minimum requirements.)
B.A student and parent must sign a standard contract for an event of this type agreeing to adhere to particular arts event requirements.
C.A student must maintain satisfactory conduct (i.e. all course conduct grades are marked as an “S” on the most recent quarterly report card and on all the weekly grade checks between the most recent quarterly report and the last Friday before the event) to audition or be considered for participation in an event of this type. If there is a conduct grade below an “S” (i.e. an “N” or “U”) that student will be ineligible to participate in the performances during the school day.
1.The Student Assistance Team (SAT) may recommend that a student with whom they have been working be allowed to participate under an individualized agreement.
2.A student under suspension from school shall not be permitted to participate in practice/rehearsal sessions or any other event of this type during the suspension period.
a.If the student is involved in one of these events at the time a suspension begins, that student will be referred to a Student Support Team to assess whether continued participation following the term of suspension is in the student’s best interests.
b.The Student Assistance Team (SAT) may recommend that a student with whom they have been working be allowed to participate under an individualized agreement.
D.A student who engages in any conduct prohibited or that is identified as a violation of acceptable behavior by the Fayette County Board of Education Student Code of Conduct during any activity of this kind may be disciplined in accordance with the applicable discipline policy. If such discipline includes suspension or denial of the student’s privilege to participate in the activities, then that student will be removed from participation in the current event.
E.Any exempted event must have prior principal approval.
F.Activities of this nature with rehearsals will have a structured study hall offered for students so that homework can be worked on during the time a student is not immediately needed during a rehearsal.
G.Students ineligible to participate in activities of this nature, along with a parent(s), will be notified by the activity’s teacher sponsor immediately upon an ineligibility determination. (For example, when report cards are issued, if a student does not meet the grade or conduct requirements, the student and parent(s) will be notified that he/she will not be participating in the school event. Or if a student does not meet the weekly grade or conduct requirements on the weekly reports, the student and parent(s) will be notified that he/she will not be participating in the school event.)
