Element Autobiography Project

*For this project you will pick an element to research. After you research the required information about your element, you will create a presentation to communicate the information. You need to pretend you “are” the element and communicate the information from that perspective.

Project Presentation Choices:

-Write a Story
-Make a Poster or Brochure
-Create a Board Game
-Write a Song, Poem, or Rap
-Make a video
-Perform a skit
-Create a Comic Strip story
-Make powerpoint
-Create a Scrapbook
-any other presentation method that meets all criteria

Element Information Required for Project:
1. Element Name
2. Origin of Name (why was named name, what name means, language origin)
3. Discovery (who discovered, when discovered, how discovered)
4. Element Classification
-periodic table family
-metal, metalloid, non-metal, man-made, etc.
5. Phase at Room Temperature (gas, liquid, solid)
6. TwoPhysical properties (color, odor, texture, hardness, melting and boiling pts, etc.)
7. Two Chemical properties (reactivity, flammability, etc.)
8. Places element is found on Earth or universe
9. Is element naturally found by itself or in a compound?
-If found in a compound, which compound is most common?
10. Methods for element harvesting and/or purification for use
11. Environmental and/or Health effects of element or element use
12. Uses for Element
13. Common reactions the element is involved in
14. 2-3 different interesting facts about element

  • If you are doing a paper, a work cited page should be included at the end.
