Element Advertisement Project

Begin your research in the library or on the Internet. Fill in the Element Fact Sheet based on your research. Information you will need:

  1. Symbol, atomic number, and atomic mass.
  2. Date and method of discovery of the element (be sure to note the scientist(s) who is credited with the discovery).
  3. Origin of the name.
  4. Family name of elements.
  5. Physical properties.
  6. Chemical properties.
  7. Cost.
  8. Common substances or compounds that contain this element.
  9. Uses of the element or its compounds.
  10. Any other interesting information you found out about the element.

Your job is to develop an advertisement to “sell” or market your element. You can do this in a number of creative ways beyond the suggested list below.You must have a catchy slogan or a jingle. You must submit a script/lyrics for a movie trailer, a commercial and a song. Art projects must have writing on them or you must also submit a script of advertisement with your art project.

Include with your advertisement a fact sheet that lists all of the information collected from the required information list (#1-10).
