ELECTRONIC ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01Summary

A.Refer to Section 27 00 00 for additional project scopeinformation.

B.This specification section covers the furnishing and installation of a newand complete enterprise-wide, low-voltage, Electronic Access Control System(EACS).

C.Contractor shall furnish and install access control hardware devices,mounting brackets, power supplies, switches, controls, consoles and other components ofthe system as shown andspecified.

D.Contractor shall furnish and install access control related software to allowthis system expansion. Software includes required license addition for accesscontrol readers and electrified portals, workstations and Video Management System(VMS)Integration.

E.Furnish and install outlets, junction boxes, conduit, connectors, wiring, andother accessories necessary to complete the system installation. Requirements shall bein accordance with Division 26 00 00,Electrical.

Scope: Successful bidder shall provide, install, and provide warranty service for technology systems described herein.

1.02 RelatedDocuments

1.03 Qualifications

A. Refertorelated sections for specificrequirements.

1.04 PermitsandInspections

A. Responsibility:Obtainpermitsandinspections required forthework. Contractor is responsible forall permit andinspectioncosts.

B. Performance:Performtests required herein,or asmaybereasonablyrequired to demonstrateconformancewith thespecificationsorwith therequirements ofany legal authorityhavingjurisdiction.

C. Review:Obtainapprovals fromauthoritiesresponsible forenforcement of applicable codesandregulationsto establishthat theworkisincompliancewithall requirementsof referencecodesindicated herein andrequired bythe appropriate jurisdiction.Makecorrections, changesoradditions as required anddeliver certificatesof acceptance, operation, and/orcompliancewiththeOperation and MaintenanceManuals described herein.

1.05 Drawings and BasisofDesign

A. General: Work,equipment,ormaterial delineatedonanydrawingin thispackage willbeexpectedtobeprovided byContractor unless notedotherwise.

B. Interpretation: Work shallbeinstalled in accordancewith thebasisof design diagrammaticallyexpressedonthedrawings anddescribed inthewritten specificationsandequipmentschedule(s). Contractorshall notmakelimiting interpretationthatprovides for incompleteworkora non-functioningsystem.

1.06 ProductSubstitutionProcedures

A. RequestsforSubstitutions:ShouldtheContractor requestachangeinthematerial that istobesupplied, fromthatwhichwasspecified inthecontract,the Contractor shall providetheOwnerandtheConsultantwith awritten requestfor saidchange.

B. Substitutions for Non-specifiedProducts: Wherenoproductspecificationis provided,Contractormayusemanufacturer’sspecification for theidentified productasa guideforsuggestingappropriatesubstitutions.

C. Requirements: TheRequestforSubstitutionshall include:

1. Reasonforsubstitution.

2. Materialdata sheetsforboth theproposed item(s)andtheitem(s) tobe replaced.

3. Any costimpactto theOwner.

D. Changes: Proposedchanges toContract Documents shall beclearlyidentified inthe pre-constructionsubmittals.

E. Approval:TheOwnermayapproveordenyanyRequestsfor Substitution.The Ownerreservestherighttogovernoverandproclaimwhetherproposed products are equal tothe specifications. TheContractor shall notprocureanysubstitute materials until theOwnerhas approved andsigned theRequestfor Substitutionand passed copies tothe ContractorandtheConsultant. Anyprocurementorwork performed prior tothis approvalisattheContractor’sown risk.

F.Deviation:Productsprovided or installedthat deviatefromtheproductsspecifiedin make,model, color,orothersignificantcharacteristic(i.e., non-approved substitutions)shall beremoved andreplaced with specifiedproductsatno additional expensetoOwner.

1.07 Software

A. Versions:Consultant shall usethefollowingsoftware versions for this project:

1. AutodeskRevitMEP(floorplans)

2. AutodeskAutoCADMEP(detail sheets)

1.08 Submittal Conditions

  1. TheContractor shallnot considerthe Consultantor Owner’s reviewof submittals to beexhaustiveorcompleteineverydetail.Approvalofshopdrawingsorsubmittals includingsubstitutions indicatesonlytheacceptanceof the Contractor’sapparent intenttocomplywith generaldesignormethodofconstructionandqualityas specified.Thefinished productshallmeetfunctional requirements,operations, arrangements,andquantitiesandcomplywith the contractdocumentsunless specificallyapprovedotherwise.

B. TheContractor shallbeheldresponsiblefordelivery of systems asspecified.Any errorsoromissions in thesubmittalsshall notrelieveContractorofresponsibilityto delivercompletesystems as specified.

1.09 Pre-ConstructionProcedures

A. Pre-ConstructionSubmittalMeeting:Contractor shall schedule web conference (WebExorsimilar)with Consultant toreviewbasisofdesignandsubmittal expectations.

B. Prior toWork:Pre-constructionsubmittals shallbeprovidedtoConsultant with appropriatepromptnessastocausenodelaytothe work.

C. ProjectTimeline:Projecttimelinewill notbealtered duetolatenessof submittals.

Contractorwill remainboundtodeliveratimely, complete, andfinishedprojectas stipulated intheir contractandspecified herein.

D. FormatandDistribution:Contractorshall provideone(1)electronic copyinPDF formattoConsultantofallpre-constructionsubmittals. TheContractorshall provide hardcopiessets asrequireduptosix(6)sets.Poorlymadereproductionsshall be returned for resubmittal.

E. Contractorshall reviewallShopDrawings to ensuretheyarecomplete,andin conformancetotheseSpecifications.Thefollowingsteps arerequired:

Determineandverifymaterials andrelated constructioncriteria.

CheckandcoordinateShopDrawinginformationwithrequirementsof theWork ofothertradesandContractDocuments.

Review,correct,andapplyContractor’s approval stamp with signature.

Prepareandattach aLetterofTransmittal.

F.Provision:Contractor shallsubmitpre-constructionsubmittalsincluding any corrections oradditions toConsultant prior tothe procurementof equipmentor commencementof work.

G. Review: Pre-constructionsubmittalsshall bereceivedandformallyapprovedby Consultant prior tothe procurementofmaterialor thecommencementof work. Anyprocurementorwork performed prior tothis approvalisatContractor’sown risk.

H. ShopDrawingsmarkedwithinstructionsfor correctionshall be resubmitted as instructedonstampmarkings.

I. Shop Drawings whicharemarked “Rejected”shall bereprinted andreformattedin

approvedformatandresubmitted as specified.

J.FailuretoProvide:Thefailure ofContractor toprovidepre-construction submittals as required hereinmayresult in thewithholdingof payment forworkand/or the cancellationofthecontract.

1.10 Pre-ConstructionSubmittals

A. Pre-constructionsubmittals are intended todocumentthe detailsof installation.

Exactcopiesoforiginal drawings andspecificationsarenotacceptable as pre- constructionsubmittal drawings. Consultantschematicdiagramsdescribethebasis of designasdefined herein.

B. Contractorshall provide toConsultantthe followingpre-constructionsubmittals for approvalinadditiontospecificrequirements identifiedin subsequent sections.

Qualifications:Shall includedocumentationofall required qualifications. ShopDrawings:

a. Title:Eachdrawingshall haveadescriptivetitleandallsubparts ofeach drawingshall haveuniqueidentifiers. Includetitlesheetclearlydefiningthe project,date ofsubmittal,Contractor,andSubcontractors.

b. FloorPlans:Shall includedevicelocations, Contractorprovided furniture andinstallationnotes.

c.SystemDrawings:Shall includefunctional diagramsfor eachsystem detailingsystemflowincludingallequipment,routing, inputs/outputs, wiring signal type,cableidentificationdetail,connectors,adapters, intra/inter-rackpowerdistribution, installationnotesandanyother informationrequiredtoconveythecompleteturnkeysystemdesign.

d. Equipment RackandCabinetElevations:Shall include placementof all mounted equipment.

e. StructurallyMountedElements:Shall includeboth planview ofplacement as wellasa detailof structural mountingtechniques tobeused.

f.Furniture:Shall includeallContractorprovided furnitureshowing dimensional drawings,cable management andfinishes with samples for Ownerapproval.

ProductData:

a. Equipment Schedules:Shall include manufacturers,partnumbers, quantitiesandunit pricing.

b. ProductCutSheets: Shall identify(highlight,arrow,etc.)actual part numberstobeutilized includingbutnotlimitedtoequipment, mounting hardware,cabling, connectors, softwareandpower distributionequipment.

Manufacturer’s Recommendations:

  1. Whereinstallationproceduresor anypart thereof arerequired tobein accordancewith therecommendationsof themanufacturerof thematerial beinginstalled, copiesoftheserecommendationsshall beprovided prior to installation. Installationof theitemswillnotbeallowedtoproceed until the recommendations arereceivedandapproved.

C. ApprovalStamp:Generaldesignandlayoutistheonlyapproval implied bythe approvalstamp. Anythingcalled forin SpecificationsandnotnotedonShop Drawings is tobecompliedwith andtheapproval stamponShopDrawings doesnot relieveContractorofresponsibilityforerrorsoromissions in ShopDrawings.

1.11 ConstructionProgress Procedures

A. MeetingAttendance: Contractorisrequiredtoattendjobprogressmeetings in accordancewith requirementssetbyOwneror Consultant.

B. Additional Coordination:Contractorshall requestadditional jobconstruction coordinationmeetings itdeems tobenecessaryto ensurecoordinationof their responsibilities with otherparties.

  1. ProgressInspection:Consultantmayperformperiodicprogressinspections.At Consultant’srequest,ContractorshallmakeProjectManagerand/or Lead Technicianavailable.
  2. Hardware programming: Contractor to install hardware for door access control and fully wire prior to Owner programming. Owner will perform initial programming and Contractor will provide initial programming support prior to closeout.

D. TestPlan:Ten(10)business daysprior tothe proposedContractortestdate, Contractorshall providea testplandefiningthetests required.

1. Thetestplanshall beapproved byConsultantpriortoanytesting.

1.12 ConstructionProgressSubmittals

A. Completion:Contractorshall completeandsubmit via emailall construction progressdocumentationinPDF formatas requested byOwner andConsultant.

B. Contractorshall providetoConsultantthe followingconstructionprogress submittalsinadditiontospecificrequirementsidentified insubsequentsections.

1. WeeklyReport:Weeklywritten report tobesubmittedtoConsultantthrough appropriateprojectchannelsin PDF formatoutliningprogressfromprevious week,plans for progressinthe currentweek,andanycoordinationissuesthat mayrequireConsultantorOwnerattention.

2. TestPlan:Shall ensurethesystem meets Owneroperational andperformance specifications andincludethefollowing:

a. Identificationofthecapabilitiesandfunctions tobetested.

b. Detailed instructions forthe setupandexecutionofeachtest. c. Proceduresforevaluationanddocumentationof theresults.

C. FailuretoComplete:Failuretocompleterequestedconstructionprogress

documentationmayresultinthewithholdingofpayment byOwner.

1.13 CloseoutProcedures

A. Notification:Contractor shall providewritten notificationtoConsultant andOwner when Contractor issatisfiedthatthework has reachedSubstantialCompletionand is readyforinspection.

B. Pre-InspectionSubmittals:Contractorshallsubmitanelectroniccopyofallcloseout submittals toConsultant inaccordancewith therequirementsfoundin these documentsnoless thanten (10)businessdaysprior to thescheduled Final Inspection.

1. Test Results

2. As-builtdrawings(full-sizesheets)

3. OperationandMaintenance Manuals

4. EndUser Software

5. Photosthatdemonstratecompletesysteminstallation.

C. Punch List:Workormaterials foundtobeincomplete,of unsatisfactoryquality, failingtomeetthe specifications inthesedocuments,and/orunacceptableto ConsultantorOwnershallbedocumented byConsultantandprovided to Contractortorectifyatnoadditional cost. Contractorshall providewritten notificationtoConsultant andOwnerwhen all punch listitemshavebeen completed.

D. Final Inspection:At Consultant’srequest,Contractor shall makeProjectManager and/orLeadTechnicianavailable.

E. Re-Inspection:Ifmorethanone(1)re-inspectionis necessary, the costsofthe additional travel,time,andexpensesof Owner andConsultant maybedeductedby Ownerfrom thecontractamountduetothe Contractor.

F.Punch ListApproval:Onceall punch listitemsarecomplete,the Contractorshall returnan initialed punch listto theConsultantandOwnerforverification. Punch list shall beconsideredcompleteonlyafter havingbeensigned byOwner and Consultant.

G. CloseoutSubmittals:Uponapprovalofcloseoutsubmittals andprior tofinal acceptance,Contractorshall providethree(3)electronic copiestoOwner and Consultant in format(s)noted below.

1. RecordDrawings–AutoCAD2010 editable.dwgformatand PDF.

2. OperationandMaintenance Manuals –CD, orDVD.

3. EndUser Software–CD,orDVD.

4. Documentationoftestingandsystemcertification.

5. Completed Minnesota Department of Revenue IC-134 Form.

H. CloseoutSubmittalFormatandDistribution:Uponapprovalofcloseoutsubmittals andprior tofinal acceptance,Contractor shallprovidea totalofthree(3)bound hardcopieswith labeled dividersof allrecorddrawings(full-sizesheets)and operationandmaintenancemanuals, two (2) copies toOwner andone(1) copyto Consultant.Titleon front and spine of bindershall be“OperationandMaintenance

Manual–[ProjectName]”.Thefollowingadditionalitemsshall be identifiedon the

bindercover:

1. Client Name

2. ContractorNameandContactInformation

3. Consultant NameandContactInformation

4. Date

I.All documentationpreparedbytheContractor, includinghardcopyandelectronic forms, shallbecomethepropertyof the Owner.

J.PaymentAuthorization:Final paymentwillbeauthorized onlyafterall closeout proceduresandrequirementshavebeenfollowed andfulfilled byContractorand approvedinwritingbyOwnerandConsultant,includingpunch list(s)and/or re- inspection(s)anddeliveryof closeoutdeliverables.

1.14 CloseoutSubmittals

A. Closeoutsubmittals areintended todocumentthedetails ofthefinalinstallation that substantiallyconformstotheconstructiondocumentsandfunctions as intended tomeetthe Owner’s needs.

B. Contractorshall providetoConsultantthe followingcloseoutsubmittalsfor approvalinadditiontospecificrequirements identifiedin subsequent sections.

As-builtdrawings:As-built drawings areprepared by theContractor. They show,in red ink,on-sitechangesto theConsultant-approved pre-construction submittal documents.As-builtdrawings shallbesubmittedtoConsultantfor approval prior tosubmittingrecorddrawings andinclude:

a. Changes madebyAddenda, ChangeOrders, Requestsfor Information(RFIs), Architect’s Supplemental Instruction(ASIs),or Requestsfor Proposal (RFPs) inadditiontoanyother changesto theoriginal documents.

b. Actual devicelocations,conduit routing, wiringandrelationships asthey wereconstructed.

c. Nomenclatureshowingas-builtwiredesignationsandcolors.

d. Roomnumbers coincidingwith Owner spaceplanningnumbering.

Recorddrawings:Recorddrawings arethe final drawings prepared bythe

Contractorandincorporateall as-builtdrawingchanges previouslyapproved by

Consultant.Recorddrawings shouldbeelectronically produced withoutany handwritten, red ink,orclouded changes.

OperationandMaintenance Manuals:Notwithstandingrequirementsspecified elsewhere,submitone(1)copyofeachofthe followingper binder:

  1. A final Bill ofMaterialsforeach system.

b. IPandMAC Addressesforanydevicethat residesonthenetwork.

i.IPandMAC addressesshallalsobedelivered toowner as an electronic spreadsheet, thehard-copyprintout ofwhichshall beincluded ineach binderandserveasdocumentationforsection27 00001.17.B.3.b.

c. Usernamesandpasswordsbydevicefor allapplicable products.

i.Usernamesandpasswordsshall alsobedelivered toowner asan electronic spreadsheet,thehard-copyprintoutofwhichshall be included ineachbinderandserveas documentationfor section2700

001.17.B.3.c.

d. ManufacturersInstructionManuals:Specificationsheets,operationmanuals andservicesheetspublishedbythemanufacturersof thecomponents, devices andequipment provided.

h. Warranties:Provideanexecuted copyoftheWarrantyAgreement and copiesofallmanufacturers’ WarrantyRegistration papersas described herein.

i.Sufficient information, (detailed schematicsof subsystems,assemblies and subassemblies tocomponentlevel)clearly presented,shall beincluded to determinecompliancewithdrawings andspecifications.

j. Anyother items defined herein.

LocalReference Diagrams:Withineachequipmentrack,enclosure,orcabinet, theContractorshallplaceafunctional diagramof thesystem(s)inaclearplastic sleevesecuredtotheequipmentrack,cabinet,orenclosure.

IntellectualProperty:Provideall required items andwritten releaseasdescribed herein.

TrainingProgram:Proposedtrainingmaterials andprogramoutline.

SparePartsandRemoteControls:Contractor shallsubmit recordofOwnersign- offof turnoverof sparepartsandremotecontrols.

1.15 ProjectManagement

A. ProjectManager:Contractor shall appointaProjectManagerwhowillbethe main pointof contactforOwnerandConsultant regardingtheproject.

  1. Responsibility:ProjectManageris responsibleforthe following:

1. Successfullycompletingthecontractin a timelymanner.

2. Overseeingworkandperformanceofall employeesandSubcontractorswho havebeen hired byContractorandensuringcompliancewith specification.

3. Completingandsubmittingrequired documentation.

4. Attendingprojectcoordinationmeetings asrequired byOwner, Consultant,and Contractor.Contractor is responsible for takingminutes ofthese meetings and distributingcopies toall participants.

5. CoordinatingwithOwner,Consultant, Architect,General Contractor, andother Contractorsinvolved intheprojecttoensuresmooth flowofworkandon-time projectcompletion.

6. Providingawrittenweekly progressupdateto theOwnerandConsultantina

PDF formatemailed totheprojectteam.

7. Reportingallunexpectedconditionsandproblemsthatmayresult in delayor expensetoOwner andConsultant immediatelyupondiscovery.

C. Change ofProjectManager:If Contractorseeks tochange ProjectManagerduring the courseoftheProject, such changeis subjecttopriorwrittenapproval from Owner.

D. TheOwner reservestherighttorequesta changeofprojectmanageratanytime for anyreason.

1.16 Examinationof ExistingConditions

A. Examination:Contractor shall examinethe facilityandconstructiondocuments to the extentnecessary toplanfor efficient installationstrategiespriortothedelivery ofmaterials to thesiteor thecommencementofwork. Otherdocuments (ArchitecturalDrawings, hardwareschedules…)maybemadeavailable upon request. Failuretoadequatelycompletetheexaminationshall notresult in change orderrequests.

B. AcceptanceofConditions:Commencementofwork byContractor shallindicate acceptanceof existingconditions, unlessawrittennoticeof exceptions hasbeen providedtoOwnerprior tocommencement.

C. Observation:If Contractorobserves—duringpreliminaryexaminationsor subsequent work—existingviolationsoffire stopping,electrical wiring, grounding, orothersafety-or code-relatedissues, Contractorshall reportthesetoOwnerina timelymanner.

D.Pre-Existing Damage:IfContractorobservesdamagetofinishedsurfacesbefore theybegininstallationin anyarea,Contractor shall document by takingdigital photosofthedamagedarea(s)andimmediatelynotifyingConstructionManager andConsultantviaemail,with attached photos.

E. DamageduringInstallation: Anydamagecaused by,orreasonablybelieved bythe ConstructionManagertobecaused by theContractorshall resultinback-charges for saiddamages. Repairsshall match preexistingcolor andfinishof walls, floors, andceilings.AnyContractor damaged ceilingtiles,floor, andcarpetshallbe replaced tomatch color,size,style, andtexture.

1.17 ContractModificationProcedures

A. Changes:Changestothe contract maybeinitiated byOwner,Consultantor

Contractor.

B. Requestfor Information(RFI):If achange originateswith Contractor, theContractor shall submit anRFI for Consultant review. If itis deemed achangeisnecessary, the Consultant shallissue aPRtoaddress thechange.

C. ProposalRequest(PR):If achange originateswith Owner orConsultant,Consultant shall issue aProposalRequesttoContractor.

D. Change Proposal(CP):If achange originateswithContractor,orif Contractor receivesaProposal RequestfromConsultant, Contractor shall submit aChange ProposaltoConsultanttoreview.

1. References:A ChangeProposal shall referencethework tobeperformed,and shall includethecostchangetotheProject(ifany)andthetimechangetothe scheduled completion(if any)

E. Cost/TimeChanges:A Change Proposalshall referencethe worktobeperformed, andshall includethecostchangeto the project(ifany)andthetimechangetothe scheduled completion(if any).

F.Additional Information:Consultant mayrequestadditional informationtobe supplied with theChange Proposalfor consideration.

G. Acceptance:Ownerreservestherighttoacceptor rejectChangeProposals. H. ChangeOrder:A ChangeOrderis amodificationof thecontract:

1. If a ChangeOrderis approved, Ownerwillissue aChangeOrderthat references

PR and/orCP. ChangeOrder is notvaliduntilithasbeen signed byOwner.

2. Workperformedor equipmentsupplied outsideof contractwithoutavalid

ChangeOrderisdoneatContractor’sown risk.

1.18 ProductStorageandHandlingRequirements

A. Storage:Storageofmaterials shall remainthefull responsibilityof Contractoruntil

Acceptance.

B. Protection:Contractor shall takeall necessaryprecautions toprotectmaterials from the following:

  1. Theft

2. Vandalism/Tampering

3. Dents

4. Scratches

5. Dust

6. Temperature

7. Weather

8. Cutting

9. Paint

10.Otherhazardous conditions

C. Replacement:Contractor shall replace anydamagedor lostmaterialasrequiredby

Owneror Consultant.

D. Installed Materials:Installedmaterials remainthe responsibilityof theContractor until Acceptance. Contractor shalltakenecessaryprecautionstoensurethe safety andsecurityofinstalledmaterials.

1.19 Interferencewith theFacility

A. Transportationandstorageofmaterials atthefacility,workinvolvingthe facility, andothermatters affectingthehabitual usebythe Ownerofthe Owner’sbuildings, shall beconductedto minimizeinterference,andattimesandin amanner acceptable to theOwner.

1.20 On-SiteConduct

A. Conduct:Anydemonstrationofrudeness,useof profanity,or lackof respectby ContractorPersonnel toa buildingtenantwillbecauseforimmediateremoval from the premises, andsuchPersonnelwillnotbeallowedtoreturn. Contractor and Contractor’s Personnel aretoremainin projectarea.

B. Vandalism:Graffitiorvandalismwillnotbetolerated.AnyContractor/Personnel caughtintheactshall beimmediatelyremoved fromthe premisesandwill notbe allowed toreturn.

  1. Hazardous Conditions:Nooneshall beallowedtoendangerthe building, its premises,andits occupants in anymannerwhatsoever. Intheeventthatasituation occurswhichthreatensthebuildingor itsoccupantsinanymanner,Contractor, ContractorPersonnel, Subcontractor,etc.shall takesteps tocorrecthazardous condition. Intheevent thatContractor’sPersonnel failtocorrecthazardous condition,Ownerreservesthe righttoimmediatelytakesteps tocorrectthe situation atContractor’s expense.

1.21 Safeguards andProtection

A. Barriers:Provideandmaintainsuitable barriers, guards, fences andsignswhere necessarytoaccommodatethesafety ofothers relativetoand/or for theprotection of this work.

B. Regulations:ComplywithOSHA, Federal,State,Local,and Ownerregulations and standards pursuantto thiswork.

C. Protection:Protectallmaterials andequipmenttopreventtheentryor adhesionof anyandall foreignmaterial. If necessary,coverequipmentwithtemporary protectivematerial suitableforthis purpose.

D. Finishing:Check,clean andremovedefects, scratches,fingerprintsandsmudgesif necessaryfromall equipment anddevicesimmediatelypriortoAcceptanceofthe Installation.

E. Damage:Replaceall damaged or defectivematerialor workatnoadditionalcost priortoFinal Acceptance.

1.22 Owner-FurnishedProducts

A. Delivery:Owner is responsible for deliveryofOwner-furnished productstothe projectsite,unlessotherwisespecified inthis document.

B. Placement:Contractor is responsible for locating, inspecting, andmovingOwner- furnished productstotheirfinal installationposition.

C. Inspection:Contractorshall reportanydamage, discrepanciesinquantity, type, or functiontoOwnerandConsultant immediatelyupondiscovery.

D. Warranty:Contractorassumesnoresponsibilityfor anymaterialwarrantyfor Owner-furnished products.Contractorshall beresponsible forintegrating,cabling, andinstallingOwner-furnished productsunderthesamewarrantyconditionsas other productsfurnished byContractor.

1.23 QualityAssurance

A. Assurance:Itisthe intentof thesespecifications todescribeandprovidefora complete,professional, andreliable installation.

B. Qualifications:Contractoremployeeswhoareengagedin installationshall be properlytrained inthe tasks theyareexpectedtoperform.

C. Acceptability:Ownershalldeterminetheacceptability ofwork.

E.RegulatoryRequirements:Contractorshall complywithcoderequirementsthat applytothework beingperformed.

E. Certifications:Wheremanufacturer certificationsarerequired forwarrantyor for authorized resale,installationpersonnel shallhavereceivedsuchcertificationprior to the startof installationof thosemanufacturers’materials.

1.24 QualityControl

A. Installation:Duringinstallation period,when connections aremadetothe Owner’s existinginfrastructure,Contractor shall usecareto ensurethat nonegativeresults occurthat couldreduceorhamperexistingsystems.

1.25 Owner’sRighttoUseEquipment

A. TheOwner reservestherighttouseequipment,material andservicesprovided as part ofthis workprior toAcceptance oftheWork,withoutincurringadditional chargesandwithoutcommencementoftheWarrantyperiod.

1.26 IntellectualPropertyOwnership

A. All intellectualpropertyshall remainin escrowfor anunlimited periodof time.All supportingdocumentationincludingbutnotlimitedto:software,firmware, programming, uncompiledsourcecode,graphic files, diagrams,written and electronic files,includingall latest versionsofthedocumentationandsoftware necessarytoeditandadaptthesystem(s),shall beprovidedtotheOwneronaUSB flash drive,CDorDVDfor all spacesandallsystems.Theintegrator and/or programmershall alsomaintainacurrentlivecopyincorporatingall system modificationstobeprovided attheOwner’srequestandfor systemrestoration uponafailure.

B. A written releaseshall begivenbythe Contractorandall otherrequired partiesfor all programmingandconfigurationdonebytheContractorand/orSubcontractors. This releasewillacknowledgetheOwner'sownershipandrighttomodifythe intellectual propertydirectly,or tohavethe intellectual property modified byany partyof theOwner’schoosing.

2.04 PowerSupplies

  1. Provide an 8 output, fused power supply located next to the access control panels with the minimum following features:
  1. 115 VAC inp8ut rated at 1.9amps
  2. 12 or 24 VDC Fail-safe and/or fail-secure outputs at 6 total continuous amps
  3. UL 294 listed sub-assembly for access control
  4. Grey wall mountable enclosure with ground stud
  5. Eight (8), fuse protected, fail-safe and/or fail-secure access control outputs

2.05 Cables
