Millennium Update: Joan Morris
eiNetwork staff and III are working very hard to resolve problems, such as slowness. Some projects that were to completed by now have been delayed because of the need to make adjustments. Data loading is being done all the time:
Link maintenance which alphabetizes and places codes for scoping
Item note load
Authority
Patron notes load will take place next which should not take long.
Clean-up Projects:
I types for limiting
Reference items showing as available
Volume
Call numbers need to be re-indexed
My Account is now working. A test of email addresses will be conducted. First and second overdue notices and holds can be sent via email. The ILS teams will be reorganized to work on such issues as serials and homebound.
Director Report: Rebecca Serey
Rebecca thanked everyone and individually acknowledged the work of eiNetwork staff.
The call center will be staging down. During October there were 1700 calls. Usually the call center hands around 500 a month. Please continue to report problems. Mike Banfield is leaving.
A question and answer followed, with several members expressing great concern about the problems of the new ILS. Records regularly lock-up causing enormous backlogs. Patrons are complaining.
It is important to closed records and to always print paging slips. The status of “available” does not mean that an item is in, but that it is an item owned. Please describe in emails the locking problems.
ACCESS PA: Joan Morris
Will wait until after migration to extract material.
No reports from Committees.
Reserve Pool:
The use of reserve pool material needs to be uniform. A county-wide policy is in the works.
Mike Banfield demonstrated the Reports feature. Instructions will be available on the member page.
No December meeting.
