EHS Reward System Plan

This is where the value is developed for the EHS card – in the reward system.

Please help us to make it appealing to the kids by using it and speaking positively about it. The goal is to reinforce the positive behaviors. The reason students receive cards is for drawings (the more opportunities – the better the chances to receive a reward). It also creates a BUZZ of positive energy.

On the following dates: Sept. 6th, Nov. 1st, Nov. 22nd, Jan. 10th, Feb. 7th, Mar. 14th, Apr. 18th

IN ANY EVENT, GIVE STUDENTS “SOARING SILVER HAWK” CARDS FOR ALL POSITIVE MARKS REGARDLESS OF THE TIER.

Tier 1: Students with clean cards and/or favorable marks.

Teachers will review all student EHS cards the day before the Reward days during homeroom.

·  The Student will receive Soaring Silver Hawk Cards for every “Silver Hawk Do” marked on their card

·  If the student has Silver Hawk Do’s marked and No Silver Hawk Don’ts OR has a totally clean card he/she will be able to participate in a drawing. Please allow them to fill out the card and drop in the bag provided. Administrators will collect your bags.

·  The drawings will happen at the end of the day during announcements.

Tier 2: Students with favorable and/or unfavorable marks

·  If a student has 5 or less Don’t marks WITHIN THE SATISFACTORY CATEGORY, they will be able to participate in the advisement period on Reward Day. More than 5 Don’t marks, disqualify them for the advisement period.

·  If a student has any Don’t marks at all, he/she will not be able to participate in the drawing, therefore, they do not receive Soaring Silver Hawk Cards

·  The student with unfavorable marks that are in the Needs Improvement and Unsatisfactory Range will attend character education during the outside play – advisement period. This student will not be a part of the drawings.

Tier 3: All Students regardless of marks

The grade level “Reward” lockers contain the Silver Hawk cards of all students that were “caught doing good” exhibiting random acts of Excellence, Honor or Service. It does not matter what is on the EHS card for this reward. Teachers simply give the cards out at random, the student immediately writes his/her name on it and drops it in the appropriate grade level locker for a school wide drawing. We will conduct these every week starting August 23rd. These rewards would be small tokens that the student would appreciate receiving. These are significantly different from the “Big Ticket” items.
