Punctuation Rules:

Period
1. A period ends a statement.

2. A period is used after abbreviations and initials.

Comma
1. A comma separates words in a series.
Let's buy maple nut, peach swirl, and mint.
2. A comma comes between a date and
a year and also between a city and
state.

3. A comma comes after the greeting and closing in a
friendly letter.

Apostrophe

Quotation Marks
Quotation marks enclose a direct quotation.
