ECOSOIL takes delivery of 15 Kögel tipper trailers

Burtenbach, 21st August 2013

  • Kögel tipper trailer for the Stuttgart 21 building site

ECOSOIL Süd GmbH, one of Germany's most experienced and successful full-service remediators of contaminated sites, has extended its fleet by adding 15 Kögel 24m³ tipper trailers. Its Ulm branch chose the trailer manufacturer in Burtenbach for the high quality of its tipper trailers and its geographic proximity. The new tipper trailers are to be used in a large-scale project connected to the Stuttgart 21 construction site. Ecosoil is particularly concerned about sustainable area and city development.

The Kögel tipper trailers with 24 m³ loading capacity impressed Ecosoil with a multitude of innovative properties relating to demanding tasks required in daily use: For example, the chassis frame is made of high-quality steel in a lightweight construction to increase the payload. Intelligent Kögel joining technology used on the base made of 5 mm thick, tempered Hardox-450 steel and 4 mm thick side walls made of high-strength S700 steel make the tipper trailer particularly rugged and durable. The joining technology makes it easier, quicker and cheaper to exchange the components, should the company decide to use the tipper trailers to transport other goods after this large-scale project. Costly replacement of wearing panels is also avoided. The combination chosen by Ecosoil is also available with a 4 mm or a 6 mm base and 3 mm or 5 mm side walls. The underride guard is a serial feature that can be folded down as required and facilitates an easy change from use as a road vehicle to use as a road-building vehicle. The tipping bearings are low-wearing and designed in a maintenance-friendly way. The bearing bushing is made of a special material mix that facilitates extremely long maintenance intervals and ensures that the dump truck can be in operation almost all the time.

Ecosoil special equipment

Ecosoil has selected an additional bellows pressure manometer for axle load monitoring, in addition to an aluminium compressed air container for the braking system, aluminium hubs and a roller cover with an operating stand in front of the bulkhead.

High-quality corrosion protection of the chassis and base due to cathodic dip-paint coating with Nano Ceramic

The surfaces of all chassis and bases of Kögel tipper trailers are treated with Nano Ceramic technology and subsequently painted. This modern, high-quality corrosion protection ensures a long service life, is more environmentally compatible and offers a better energy balance than conventional surface coatings.
