Corrado Facco, General Manager of Italian Exhibition Group, explains, “The four days of Ecomondo are focussed on the circular economy, in both the expo context and the conference program. This new paradigm of possible alternative growth of markets will therefore be highlighted, highlighting the possibility of using the planet’s resources in a more efficient sustainable manner, thanks to a know-how in which Italy is competitive and innovative. The expos’ international profile, on which we have invested a lot, is also growing. At Rimini expo centre the work carried out in recent months by IEG, with a promotion road show featuring over 50 appointments worldwide, with relations aimed at enterprises’ business, will be evident.”

At the centre of the Ecomondo universe the integrated waste management cycle, with the European Commission recently raising targets of overall recycling by 2030 from 65% to 75%, and Italian excellence with the twenty years’ experience of the Conai-Consorzi System (already at 67% of packaging waste sent for recycling).

At Rimini Expo Centre, the ideal city, the city of the future, takes shape. Thanks to the Sustainable City project, with its renewed format. There will be four macro areas:Urban Regeneration,Sustainable Mobility and Transport,Key Solar (dedicated to photovoltaic energy and storage) and, last but not least, innovation from the Internet of Things and ICT.Among the numerous appointments scheduled, there is eager expectation for the reports from theUSA by the municipalities ofPortland(Oregon) andSan Leandro(California), two avant-garde situations in the Smart Cities projects in the States.

An internationally important focus on the circular economy, the new paradigm of the green economy.“More products, less waste” is the key concept. The scenario of transition to the circular economy has already been assumed as a priority commitment by the European Commission which has made instruments and resources available.By means of events and meetings, Ecomondo will draw all the players’ attention to the priority issues of the circular economy, showing the industry how and with what advantages it is possible to adopt this new model of green economy.

Another eagerly awaited appointment is with Global Water Expo, the section dedicated to all the stages of the integrated water cycle, from it procurement to its return to the environment.

Further boosted the area dedicated to energy efficiency and optimization, in the context of KEY ENERGY, the only Italian event dedicated to renewable energy, which also hosts Key Efficiency, dedicated to technology, systems and solutions for the intelligent use of resources.
