ECB EAST MIDLANDS:WOMEN & GIRLS LEGACY OFFICER

Contract:1-year fixed term (37 Hours per week) – Potential for additional year (subject to funding)

Salary:£23,500

Based: East Midlands (Located at Sports Park, Loughborough University)

Employed by: Derbyshire Cricket Board

Collaborationincludes: Derbyshire Cricket, Leicestershire County Cricket Club and the England and Wales Cricket Board

Primary jobpurposes:

  1. To be responsible for the development, implementation and alignment of a cross county‘Women and Girls Regional Plan’ for Participation and Growth
  1. Utilise two ICC World Cup Venues by Inspiring Fans and unleashing the ‘More Play’ Agenda

Reports to:Regional Growth Executive (East Midlands), England and Wales Cricket Board

Role Profile

  • Manage, develop and coordinate a number of community projects to engage and inspire Women and Girls
  • To identify and work with local and regional partners to develop new opportunities for girls and women to play cricket through innovative delivery mechanisms
  • Develop indoor winter festivals across the East Midlands to grow the amount of social indoor cricket and improve player retention
  • Deliver outdoor festivals across the East Midlands in a range of club and community environments
  • Grow activation and introductory schemes of activity in workplaces, clubs, the private and voluntary sectors
  • Promote the extensive offer of women’s cricket to a wide range of stakeholders including businesses and the private sector (inclusive of KSL)
  • Organise and manage a‘Regional Coaching Workshop’to recruit, retain and support female coaches
  • Facilitate a Regional Forum for female coaches, ambassadors and facilitators
  • Implement a ‘Regional Marketing and Communication Plan’across the local cricket network
  • Support County Cricket Boards to deliver girls activity on the supposition of the ‘All Stars Programme’
  • Identify and pursue further funding opportunities for additional activity to support the outcomes of the post
  • Ensure the welfare of all participants at all times, and ensure relevant guidelines are always implemented
  • Act upon new opportunities to instigate the ‘more play’ agenda, as and when they arise
  • Ensure all activities align with the wider aims of the game under Cricket Unleashed and local plans.

Personal Specification

Essential / Desirable
Experience
  • Experience of working with young people and adults– particularly girls and women
  • Experience of working with and leading volunteers
  • Experience of running events/youthclubs/festivals or similar activity
  • Experience of project management including budget management

  • An understanding of Cricket or/and Sports Development

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrationskills
  • Ability to organise and plan effectively
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to manage their own time, work on own initiative and also as a member of the team
  • Ability to remain calm, efficient and professional whilst working under pressure
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • An understanding of sports development
  • Manage specific budgets as assigned to each project
  • Carry out administration and reporting tasks as required

  • Cricket coaching qualification
  • Coaching qualifications in other sports and activities
