Fees are based on a 10X10 booth space. Additional space may be available for $1 per linear foot of increase width of booth space.

Certifications and Licenses

Vendors are required to provide copies of all certifications and licenses with application to the market.

Dates and Hours of Operation

EAVFM will operate on Thursdays from 4PM and to Dusk May thru November. There will be no market on Thanksgiving Day. All vendors will break down at the same time unless prior arrangements have been made with the market manager.

Attendance

If a vendor cannot participate in the market any week, the vendor is required to notify the market manager via e-mail the Monday evening prior to Thursday at the latest as to their inability to attend the market for that week.

Priority and seniority will go to vendors who maintain a consistent and regular schedule and attend at least 25 of the 30 weeks at market.

The person selling your product must have direct knowledge and experience with its production.

Booth and Parking

  1. All vehicles must be out of the parking lot where the market is set up by 3:50PM.
  2. Vendors may park in the parking lot across Joseph street and may not park in the Ace Hardware lot.
  3. Vendors are responsible for their own tables, tents, money and materials.
  4. Vendors must clean their space of any debris or trash prior to leaving the market.
  5. Vendors must post pricing for all items.
  6. All vendors selling by the pound must use a scale certified by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Scale certification are available free of charge by the Department.

Food Stamp Tokens and WIC

The 2008 EAV Farmers Market is a pilot program in Georgia for accepting food stamps at the farmers market. Food stamp recipients will swipe their card at the market booth in exchange for wood tokens. Farmers and packaged food vendors are required to accept the wood tokens as cash. Farmers will be reimbursed by check on a bi-monthly basis directly from the East Atlanta Village Farmers Market.

The market will be certified to accept WIC vouchers, which are only good for fruits and vegetables. Vendors will accept vouchers, and then turn those vouchers into the Market Manager to receive a check from the EAV Farmers Market of equivalent value.

Legal Compliance

All food must be produced in a certified commercial kitchen that has been inspected by the Department of Agriculture or Department of Health depending on your classification.

Product Inputs

Please submit an expense sheet for your last month of operation that lists all ingredients for products or types of products you plan to sell at the EAV Farmers Market. Cost, certification status, name and distance of farms, and point of production are required to be included for major input/ingredient. All information will be confidential with the EAV Farmers Market.

Approved vendors are required to submit the above document on a monthly basis. This needs to be submitted by the 7th of the month for the previous month’s purchases.

(i)Comply with the Rules and Regulations of the EAV Farmers Market provided in the “EAV Farmers Market Policies” and contained on the EAV Farmers Market website as revised from time to time,

(ii) To obtain liability insurance,

(iii)Procure and maintain any and all PERMITS and LICENSES (where applicable)

(v)Indemnify, defend and hold the East Atlanta Village Farmers Market, its representatives, board of directors, employees and volunteers (collectively, the “Market Parties”) harmless from any and all liability, loss, expense or claims for injury or damage (collectively, “Costs”) as a result of my participation with the EAV Farmers Market to the extent such Costs are not caused by the negligence or intentional acts or omissions of the EAV Farmers Market.

(vi)That the EAV Farmers Market shall indemnify, defend and hold me harmless if I incur any Costs as a result of the EAV Farmers Market’s actions relating to my participation with the EAV Farmers Market to the extent such Costs are not caused in by my negligence or intentional acts or omissions.

(vii)Only sell products listed on my application. I understand that I may expand my line of products/offerings beyond what is described in my application only upon prior written approval of the Market Manager.
