Important Note: A player’s age for baseball is their age as of 8/31/2016. A player’s age for softball is their age as of 1/1/2015. Based on the number of players that register for each level, player ability based on evaluations, safety concerns and availability of coaches; EW Little League reserves the right to assign a player to a division outside of their actual baseball / softball playing age.

Ages 5-6 Instructional League - For Boys and Girls - Registration Fee = $40 Online, $50 Paper Registration

Introduces players to baseball fundamentals. Players use a slightly softer ball. Coaches pitch to hitters from a short distance away, after 3 unsuccessful swings players then hit from a tee. Games are for fun and learning; scores are not kept. Emphasis is on teaching kids proper throwing, hitting and catching techniques. All games are against other East Windsor Teams. Teams typically get together a total of 2 and sometimes 3 times per week for practice and games.

Baseball– Registration Fee = $100 Online, $110 Paper Registration for all Levels of Baseball (except instructional level)

Ages 7 – 8 AA Baseball - Introduction to real baseball with player’s leaning to pitch, catch, and steal. Players pitch to the other team, with a limited number of walks per inning whereupon a coach takes over. The emphasis is still on teaching and learning more than winning, so a limit of 5 runs per team per inning to keep games competitive is imposed. Games are played against other teams from both East Windsor and Windsor Locks.

Ages 9 – 10 AAA Baseball – More competitive level of baseball with full baseball / Little League rules with the exception of no pass balls. No limit on the number of walks, though a 5 run per inning rule is still maintained. Games are played against other teams from East Windsor, Windsor Locks and other nearby towns.

Ages 11 – 12 Majors Baseball – Fully competitive baseball just like seen on TV during the Little League World Series! Games are played against East Windsor and several other towns.

Ages 13 to 15 Juniors Baseball – Competitive baseball played on a full sized (professional) baseball field. East Windsor will combine with Windsor Locks to create teams for this age group. Registration for this age group will be on the Windsor Locks Little League website at www.eteamz.com/WLLL/

Softball – Registration Fee = $100 Online, $110 Paper Registration for all Levels of Softball

Ages 7- 8 Rookies – Introduction to softball with players learning to throw, catch, field and bat with a softball. Coaches pitch to the batters as players learn the basics of fielding and running the bases. The emphasis is on teaching and learning more than winning, so all players bat each inning. Games are played against other teams from East Windsor as well as surrounding towns.

Ages 9 – 10 Minors Softball - A more competitive level of softball with players pitching to the other team and a limit of 3 to 4 walks per inning whereupon a coach takes over. The emphasis is still on teaching and learning more than winning, so a limit of 4 runs per team per inning to keep games competitive is imposed. Softball fundamentals are stressed, including stealing, bunting and sliding, Games are played against other teams from both East Windsor and surrounding towns that may include Ellington, Windsor Locks, Somers and others.

Ages 11 – 12 Majors Softball – Highly competitive softball with unlimited runs, walks and stealing. There is a greater emphasis on the development of positions with girls specializing as infielders, outfielder, pitchers and catchers. Dedication, discipline and commitment are stressed, as well as having fun and improving skills. Games are played against other teams from surrounding towns that may include Ellington, Windsor Locks, Somers and others.

Ages 13 – 14 Juniors Softball - Competitive softball with unlimited runs, walks and stealing. A great stepping stone to high school softball. We usually combine with another town to form a team. Games are played against other teams from surrounding towns that may include Ellington, Windsor Locks, Somers and others.
