EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Have a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or a master’s degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university. Applicant must have three years of full-time, paid, in-field or related field teaching/work experience serving young children within the past seven years.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred; supervisory experience at a NAEYC accredited child care center; active participation in appropriate professional/occupational organizations; excellent communication skills and experience in online instruction preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Early childhood Care and Education Instructor will be responsible for fulfilling both teaching and non-teaching activities necessary to sustain an educational program that prepares students for careers in child care and related fields. Must be willing to work flexible hours; work well in the classroom and in supervising students at practicum or internship sites; be able to develop and evaluate lesson plans; direct and assess students’ progress in achieving required competencies; and handle administrative responsibilities related to academic duties.

SALARY/BENEFITS: This is a part-time position without insurance benefits; work hours will not exceed 29 per week. Hourly rate is commensurate with education and work experience.
