Homework for April 20 - 24

Each week, homework will be sent home on Monday and should be returned on Friday in your child’s homework notebook. Use the list below and choose 4 of the 6 assignments to complete. Your child should spend 10-15 minutes completing homework per night. Please help your child when needed, however, allow them to complete it independently. In addition, please read to or with your child each night for 15-20 minutes.
Assignments:

  1. We are learning about contractions in Language Arts. Use these contractions in a sentence: can’t, I’ll, and don’t.
  2. What two words make up these contractions? Didn’t, she’ll, isn’t, and shouldn’t. (For example: I’m is made up of the words I and am.)
  3. Draw a picture of 8 triangles. Color half the triangles blue and the other half green.
  4. Wednesday is Earth Day. Write at least 3 things that you could do to help the Earth.
  5. Show a picture, a number sentence, and write a sentence telling how you solved this math problem. There were 12 butterflies on a bush. 4 butterflies flew away. How many butterflies were left?
  6. On Monday we did an experiment with a Venus Fly Trap plant. Draw a picture to show what happened in the experiment and write at least 2 sentences about it.
