SCHOLARLY INTERESTS
Education Policy.
My primary research interest is centered on the creation, implementation, and evaluation of education policy. Central to this interest is the incorporation of political aspects of education, values under girding educational policy, and the proper role of the state in education. Specific research areas include normative policy analysis; private education; parental rights and choice; educational reform and restructuring; adequacy and equity issues in school finance; historical and ideological development of educational ideas and policy; and social and cultural context of education.
I am also interested in alternative education such as private education, comparative governance systems, educational policies, education and culture in international areas. My international studies are in China, the Middle East and Latin America.
