Dear Members,

We trust you must be taking care of your health and that too of your family in the scorching heat and playing 2nd inning of your life with confidence.

Friends we are pleased to inform that membership of BOBROA has reached -10,335- and we are slowly but certainly marching towards enviable figures of -12,500- by next conference. We appreciate your cooperation in enrolling membership. We are also pleased to inform that as informed in Governing Council and General Body Conference our Mumbai & Thane Zone had convinced VRS 2001 group of Mumbai to join our BOBROA and as decided in their meeting -160- members will shortly join us. Thanks to painstaking efforts of Shri N.M. Shah, Zonal President and Shri Vasant Upadhyay, Zonal secretary.

ZONAL ACTIVITIES :

Friends you will agree that communication is the life line of any Organisation. Our Zonal Teams are doing excellent on this front by keeping themselves in touch with primary members through SMS, emails, messages on whatsapps and arranging locational meetings on festivals or otherwise. The spouses of members are also invited on the occasions. We give below in brief such meeting arranged by different Zones, as informed to us.

KOLKATA ZONE:

Ist meeting cum get together of members was organized at PATNA on 23rd January 2017 and -53- members from and around Patna attended the meeting. Zonal secretary Shri H.S. Banerjee apprised members in regard to various activities of our Association. Also a meeting cum get together was organized for members residing in and around KOLKATA on 26th March 2017. The meeting was attended by -75- members and presided over by Shri Sukumar Saha Zonal President. The house observed two minutes silence in honor of departed souls since last conference. Zonal Secretary Shri H.S. Banerjee informed members about various organisational achievements. The increase in all India membership was appreciated by members with thunderous applause. ZS also apprised members in regard to the decision taken, amendment to constitution etc. at Governing Council Meeting on 3rd March 2017 and also General Body conference on 4th & 5th March 2017 at Jodhpur. -6- Members who had attained age of -75- years were felicitated. Zonal Secretary informed members that it has been decided to meet on 2nd Tuesday of each month and also appealed members for generous donation. Two special sessions were also arranged one for health awareness and stress management and 2nd for Group Insurance Scheme.

Also aGeneral Body Meeting of members residing in and around BHUBANESHWAR was organized on 13th May 2017 at Regional Office Bhubaneswar not only to rejuvenate the spirit but also to enhance sense of fellow feeling. ZS apprised members regarding decisions taken at Governing Council Meeting and General Body Conference at Jodhpur. The then Deputy General Manager Shri Asit Panda graced the occasion and was felicitated for his promotion to GM’s Cadre.

AHMEDABAD ZONE :

General Body meeting of members residing in northern part of the Zone i.e.Saurashtra & Kutch area was organized on 5th May 2017 at Rajkot. Nearly -150- members have attended the meeting. Members had come from distant places to attend the meeting. Shri R.N. Jani, the then Deputy General Manager and Head of HR Department was felicitated. Also -3- members who have completed -85- years of age and -5- members who have completed -75- were felicitated. Zonal secretary Shri A.K. Shah informed members about happenings in General Body Conference at Jodhpur on 4th and 5th March 2017. Shri V.T. Makwana, General Secretary shri Jatil Patel Executive President and Shri J.G. Lakhawala, Joint General Secretary also attended the meeting and apprised the members on various organizational matters.

BARODA ZONE :

General Body meeting of members residing in Baroda City, District, Anand, Panchmahal was organized on 28th May 2017 at Baroda. Nearly -275- members have attended the meeting. Members from remote areas had come to attend the meeting. -10- Members who have attended -85- years of age and -23- members who have attained -75- years of age were felicitated. Zonal Secretary Shri Dani apprised members of various developments in the Zone. Shri V.T. Makwana, Shri J.G. Patel and Shri J.G. Lakhawala informed members of the development at Bank Level, Industry Level and legal matters. The meeting was followed by musical evening and dinner.

BAREILLY ZONE :

A family get together of Bareilly Region was held on 9th April 2017 at Bareilly. -30- Members participated with their spouse. Zonal secretary appraised members about Jodhpur Triennial Conference, election of Central Office bearers, legal matters etc. New members Shri Anand Sharma and I.R. Chaudhary were welcomed. The programme witnessed Tambola and gifts were given to winners of Housey game. It was decided to organize contributory trip to Vrindavan in August 2017. Apart from Bareilly, family meeting, Zone had organized family meeting at Aligarh & Meerut in March 2017 and also at Dehradun, and Moradabad.

INITIATIVE TAKEN BY BANK

Bank has already uploaded Form 16 Part A & B in regard to Pensioners whose pension income is more thantaxable limit i.e.Rs.3.00 Lakhs. Pensioner can download this Form 16 from any branch or from their Registered Mobile.

FAQ on TDS for 2017 - 2018

  • Those Pensioners whose Pension for 2017 – 2018 is more than taxable ceiling of Rs.3.00 Lakhs should give declaration of eligible investment before quarter ending June 2017 else from July onwards Tax will be deducted proportionately.
  • Investment proof should be submitted by Pensioner to Pension Paying branch by 15th January.
  • In case total annual Pension does not cross the exemption limit, Pensioner need not submit declaration nor investment proof as there will be no deduction of tax.
  • It is mandatory for the Bank to deduct TDS while paying Pension.
  • Form No.16 will be uploaded centrally in Payroll System by the end of May every year.
  • Form No.16 will not be generated for those pensioners whose gross taxable pension is within taxable limit.
  • In case of any query relating to TDS first contact point is paying branch and then pension Department by email .
  • Inclusion of employee retired on 31.10.2015 under Banks’ Contributory Medical Scheme.
  • In regard to Medical Insurance
  • Bank has started sending message for receipt of medical claims.
  • Started HELP LINE for queries in regard to status etc. of claim lodged. The helpline No. is 1800 233 2707 (toll free at HO during office house)
  • We are informed by Head HR Operations that DHS TPA (India) Pvt. Ltd. Is now a wholly owned subsidiary of M/s.Medi. Assist Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd.
  • The process of integration of the Data of DHS into Medi. Assist is underway. All the Updationis being made in the Medi Assist data base at present. Hence the data is not being updated in DHS Website.
  • The SMS and emails in case of queries are being generated and sent to the insured at their registered mobile / email ID by Medi. Assist.
  • The revised procedure for the Medi. Assist. Website would be shared as soon as the same is received from them. In the meantime staff should send their claims as HITHERTO TO MEDICAL INSURANCE CELL AT BOB – HO - BARODA.
  • Considering huge number of insured and limited availability of staff of TPA at Bank’s office correspondence be made to .
  • The following matters are referred / followed up with Bank for redressal.
  • Formation of grievance redressal Cell as advised by IBA.
  • Inclusion of retired employees in revised health check up scheme.
  • Full Pension to compulsorily retired Officers.
  • Payment of emoluments to business correspondents under financial inclusion scheme.
  • Appointment of retirees on Pension Fund Trust.

LEGAL MATTERS

AT SUPREME COURT

As regards 100% DA neutralization case BOBROA has decided to file review petition as well impleadment application in Supreme Court. Necessary formalities are being completed as quickly as possible.

Addition of service upto -5- years under Reg.26 relating to Specialist Officers. Matter is posted for July 2017.

Payment of arrears of Pension revision for period 01.04.1998 to 30.04.2005. Coordinating counsel at New Delhi to have the process of early hearing.

AT GUJARAT HIGH COURT

Non-payment of Gratuity on revised Basic Salary for a section of Officers who retired as on 31.10.1992 – posted for hearing in June 2017.

Updation of Pension – The matter is under admission stage.

AT KARNATAKA HIGH COURT

Issue relates to denial of exercise of option pursuant to Joint Note dated 27.04.2010 to resignees – posted for hearing on admission stage.

AT INDUSTRY LEVEL

A delegation of CBPRO called on Shri Arun Jaitley,Hon’ble Minister of Finance on 02.06.2017 and gave him a Memorandum on following most important and urgent issues of Bank Pensioners giving the rationale behind such issues:

i)Uniform Dearness Relief Formula

ii)Improvement in Family Pension

iii)Pension Updation.

iv)Medical Insurance Scheme – extending the scope on the same lines as available to serving employee without collection premium cost from retirees.

CBPRO has also requested AIBRF to have coordinated action programmes with CBPRO on various issues so that the forces of all our organizations are focused to bring better results and resolution of long pending issues of Pensioners and Retirees.
