General description

The Dycem non-slip products offer a solution to a wide range of grip and stability needs. Dycem is not sticky but grips on both sides to prevent movement on dry, slippery surfaces. All Dycem products are non-toxic, latex free, colour fast, odourless and easily washed.

They are not dishwasher safe but can be washed regularly in soapy water or wiped with a damp cloth. Please dry thoroughly before use because the material is not effective when wet.

Do not use any type of abrasive cleaners.

The following are the range of Dycem products which can be used around the home.

Dycem non-slip mats

Dycem mats are available in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. They can help reduce the risk of accidents in the home and enable people to retain greater independence.

The mats can be used to:

Hold plates and glasses securely in place whilst eating and drinking.
Hold mixing bowls and chopping boards firmly in place, which makes preparing food easier and also offers a colour contrast.
Place Dycem non-slip mats on tabletops to prevent household objects like telephones, calculators, computers and games from slipping whilst in use, even on slanting tables.

Round Dycem mats

Available in Blue – DK33U and Yellow – DK33Y. Diameter: 190mm (7.48”)

Oblong Dycem mats

Blue – DK35. Width: 200mm (7.87”), Length: 300mm (11.81”)

Forest Green – DK63G and Yellow DK63Y. Width: 185mm (7.28”), Length: 255mm (10.04”)

Dycem non-slip reels

Dycem reels offer the same non-slip properties as the mats but the material is more malleable so they can easily be moulded or wrapped around any object to improve grip.

Can be cut to shape or size to suit requirements.
Cut a piece of reel material and place it on a tray for added stability.
Line seats and backs of chairs with a piece of Dycem reel to prevent forward sliding – or put a piece under a cushion.
The reel material can also be used to wrap round handles of utensils, pens or tools.

Dycem jar opener

The Dycem jar opener can aid individuals with a weak grip or decreased sensation in their hands to open stubborn jars or pots. It is however not limited to the kitchen, many Occupational Therapists encourage patients to use the jar opener to open doors or turn on taps around the home.

Available in Blue – DK76U. Diameter: 113mm (4.45”)

Dycem bottle opener

The bottle opener has been specially designed to fit various sizes of bottles and caps. The bottle opener can also be used to open medicine and pill bottles. It also allows a tight grip on small cupboard doors and taps.

Available in Yellow – DK77Y. Diameter: 60mm (2.36”)

Dycem cup holder

Fits snugly onto the bottom of a standard-sized mug or tumbler so that the mug has a non-slip base wherever it’s placed and stabilises it to prevent movement and spillage. It can be used with hot drinks and will not damage the surface on which it is placed.
