1. Duties for all Appointed Officers
  2. Report all findings and recommendations to the General Assembly.
  3. Shall Serve on the committees and meet with the individuals in accordance with the bylaws of this constitution.
  4. Schedule and chair all committee-related meetings and hearings.
  5. When appropriate, oversee, encourage and/or sponsor committee-supported legislation.
  6. Each Appointed Officer is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner while attending GA and Committee meetings and/or GA functions.
  7. Appointed Officers who are assigned to a Committee as representatives of GSS must learn and adhere to the policies and procedures of said Committee.
  1. Chair for Professional Development of Graduate Students
  2. Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a lead in the planning and implementation of all GSS-sponsored academic/professional development programming efforts.
  2. Works with the Vice President in the planning and implementation of all aspects of the Charles E. Shanklin colloquium held in April.
  3. Committees upon which this chair will serve:
  1. Faculty Senate Honors and Awards Committee.
  2. Center for Teaching and Learning.
  3. FPD allocations committee.
  1. Graduate Allocations Representative (GAR)
  2. Responsibilities:
  3. Serve as the primary resource to graduate student organizations regarding the SBC funding process.
  4. Committees upon which the GAR serves:
  5. Student Budget Committee (SBC).
  6. FPD allocations committee.
  7. Chair for International Graduate Student Affairs
  8. Requirements
  9. This position must be held by an international student.
  10. Responsibilities
  11. Serves on the Student Health Advisory Board as the International Graduate Student Representative.
  12. Meets on a monthly basis with the Director of the International Student Services.
  13. Chair for Multicultural and Disability Graduate Student Affairs
  14. Meets on a monthly basis with the following individuals:
  1. Director of the Center for Multicultural Affairs.
  2. Assistant Graduate Dean.
  3. Office of Disability Services
  4. Serves on all Diversity Committees.
  5. All other duties as assigned.
  1. Historian and Chair for Publicity and Social Programming of Graduate Student Senate Events
  2. Responsibilities
  3. Serve as the lead in promoting all sanctioned Graduate Student Events.
  4. Serve as the lead in the planning and implementation of all GSS-sponsored social programming efforts.
  5. Works with the Vice President in the planning and implementation of all aspects of the GSS Awards Program held in April.
  6. Monthly meetings with the BGSU Office of Records Management
  7. Documents, photographs, and collects items important to the history of GSS
  8. Works with the Office of Records Management to catalog and eliminate unneeded documents
  9. All other duties as assigned.
  10. Chair for Environmental Affairs
  11. Responsibilities
  12. Works with the Senators and SEC to make GSS more environmentally friendly.
  13. All other duties as assigned
  14. Serves as the GSS representative on the following committees
  1. Student Green Fund Committee
  2. President's Climate Change Commitment Committee
  3. Any other special environmentally-related committees that are formed, such as the No Impact Week Planning Committee
  4. Monthly meetings with the Director of the Office of Campus Sustainability
