Purpose of the Role

To work as part of our Children, Family and Young People’s therapy service offering therapeutic services to victims of torture. The Volunteer Children, Family and Young People’s Therapist would be expected to work 4 hours a week as part of the team.

Main Responsibilities

Psychological therapy Work

Undertake comprehensive assessments and act as a therapist or part of a reflecting team on a small caseload of families, children or young people who are survivors of torture and who have complex needs.

Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording.

Other duties

Contribute to the development and maintenance of best practice within the service, and the organisation, by taking part in regular clinical supervision.

Attend meetings and CPD activities within Freedom from Torture.

Represent and exemplify the core values of Freedom from Torture.

Adhere to and implement Freedom from Torture’s policies and procedures.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) amended.
