Report

Action moved west to Duffy’s Equestrian Centre for the Equestrian Inter-schools Ireland league. Six teams lined out in the wet weather conditions with the omission of Newbridge College who broke down on route and had to miss out. Two teams finished with 4 faults each and two on 8 and so they jumped off for places with Ursuline College, Sligo coming out top with St. Finian’s, Mullingar second, Holy Child, Killiney third and Mohill College fourth.

Four teams lined out indoors for the Novices which saw Vocational School, Athenry come in 1st, St. Cuan’s College, Castleblakeney (boys) 2nd, St. Cuan’s College, Castleblakeney (girls) 3rd and Salerno Secondary School, Galway 4th. The novice individual went to Sorcha DeBairead, Salerno Secondary School, Galway with Silver Bramble.

Twenty-five individuals went to post in the open individuals which saw Kate Duffy, Seamount College take an early lead in a very fast time of 29.82 seconds. Alannah Taylor, St. Cuan’s went very close in second place in a time of 30.71 and Keira Banks, Salerno, third in 34.83. Broadmeadows Equestrian Centre hosts the next round next Sunday.
