Land Conservation

Lyons Parcels (see attachment)UVLT got a call from Wayne Ducey, whose deceased parents owned one of the Lyons Parcels. He is seeking info to help decide what to do with the .99 Acre parcel. Megan Chapman, UVLT, is working with Nancy to strategize ways to add the parcels to the Town Forest. Nancy compiled a spread sheet with all important info about parcels, and 4 parcels have taxes due. The total income to the Town in 2015 from the other 12 parcels was $715.37. After much discussion, it was agreed that Nancy will send letters again to the parcel owners.

Request from CVSWMD Cassandra at CVSWMD called and wants to co-sponsor 2 workshops with the BCC, the first being on Recycling; the second being on composting. We were asked to pick tentative dates that might work. For the Recycling Workshop, we picked either the evening of Monday, March 21st (the first day of Spring) or Saturday, April 23rd (the day after Earth Day). For the Composting Workshop we picked the evening of Monday,June 13th or Saturday June 25th. Cassandra said the workshops will include refreshments, games, prizes, fun activities.

Stewardship

Update on "Wilderness Trail"Nancy has begun the grant application to VT Community Foundation to help fund the trail crew. She’s on the agenda for the next Selectboard Meeting to get their permission to submit the application and to request a letter of support.

Update on "Marchi Gras" The event has been moved to the Methodist Church, because the UCC changed their policy and are now charging $35/hour and we cannot afford that.
