Process Improvement Plan (PIP) Review

¨  Tom Foley presented an update on the CAS/LERG/NRUF discrepancy clean-up project. In August 2002 there were 7500 discrepancies, as opposed to 6139 discrepancies in January 2003. NANPA’s current focus is on reducing the discrepancies for OCN. In August 2002 there were 3754 OCN discrepancies as opposed to 2866 discrepancies in January 2003, of which 47 were net new discrepancies.

¨  To date there have been 53 NPA/NXX assignments (codes appear in CAS but not in the LERG) verified with Service Providers that are not the code holders’. As a result, these codes have been removed from CAS and returned to the inventory of available numbers. There are an additional 58 NPA/NXXs that NANPA is waiting for a SP response.

NANPA Complaints

No new complaints

CO Code Administration

¨  NANPA presented the monthly matrix of code assignments, reclamation and AOCN processing.

¨  There were two instances of where an application was not processed in 10 days.

¨  The NOWG asked NANPA to include in the CO Code Quality Report one of the parameters used to calculate the reclamation quality percentage.

Code Administration System (CAS)

¨  CAS documentation (user guide and tips document) have been updated to inform users that the MTE section in CAS does not accept negative numbers.

NRUF

¨  Beth Sprague provided an update on the NRUF metrics, 2637 NRUFs were received in January 2003, 725 corrections processed, 140 updates received and 794 error notifications sent.

¨  It was noted that if the FRN was missing or incorrect or the old NRUF form was used this would be cause for the NRUF to be rejected.

¨  One service provider was granted an extension for filing their NRUF, which delayed calculations for all areas in which they operate and provide forecasts.

¨  The NOWG asked NANPA to include in the NRUF Report one of the parameters used to calculate the quality percentages as a new line item under each performance metric.

NPA Relief Planning

¨  NPA 684 was assigned to America Samoa in January 2003 and the initial implementation meeting has been scheduled

¨  Web site has been updated to reflect new exhaust dates from the Delta NRUF published in January.

¨  Two relief projects have been dismissed (208 – Idaho and 317 – Indiana)

¨  Continue to work on the unavailable code project. It was noted that further work on this project was initiated by State Commissions.

NANP Administration Process/Procedures

¨  Area Code database is now available for download by users from the web site.

Number Conservation Activities/Special Projects

¨  NANPA will be adding an agenda item to calls with States to work on standardizing the safety valve process.

¨  NXX assignments in jeopardy areas are currently under the rationing amounts (excluding California).

NOWG thanked the NANPA for their attendance and presentations, and NANPA left the call.

Jim Castagna reminded those with action items that the draft sections for the annual performance evaluation are due by Thursday morning, 2/20/03.

Next NOWG meeting will be Thursday afternoon, February 20, 2003.
