As a result of an incident in the kitchen owing to a lapse in health and safety procedures or a lack of control or training there is an accident resulting in in an injury. There is a risk that as a result that there will be a loss of reputation due to adverse publicity leading to loss of confidene in the service and possible litigation. As a result of litigation and loss of public confidence there will be a reduction in meal numbers leading to a loss of income and poor performance of the service against agreed targets.

Due to poor health and safety procedures there is a risk to staff in school kitchens resulting in injury and possible litigation.

As a result of an incident there is a risk of a severe allergic reaction resulting in hospitalisation of a pupil resulting in the service being at risk of prosecution, litigation and adverse pulicity. There is a risk that this could result in a loss of confidence in the service from parents, the school and pupils resulting in a reduction in take up of school meals and the inability of the service to meet agreed financial targets.

Due to poor training and care a pupil recieves a food or drink product to which they are allergic resulting in a risk of litigation, bad publicity and a reduction inconsumer confidence.
