-CoE Advisory Council mtg Nov. 2nd in EC 109 from 11am-3pm SJN

-ABET coming on Sunday- Tuesday. NuStar Energy coming next Thurs, will be in EC 109 & will focus on the Eagle Ford Shale. KDJ/JR
Dr. Ren
-Need more technical ideas for Eagle Ford Center, will be having workshops and training sessions and will send email out to everyone. Would like to open more projects throughout the university and not just the college.
Dr. Bailey
-1st faculty advisor training done last week, would like to launch student training once/yr instead of once/semester, still working on the power point by major. Share file is up & running, please make sure your secretaries have access.
Dr. Custer
-JESSC established bi-monthly electronic newsletter for students.
Mr. Torres
-Thanks to everyone who helped out last week with the valley tour. If anyone knows of user friendly shared calendar to let me know so I can post upcoming events for everyone. Will be setting up schedules for depts. to go out for recruiting, dept will be assigned to a specific event and will have to designate faculty to attend. Contact cards need to be given to Jr & Sr HS students when doing recruiting activities, cards will then be given to Dr. Bailey & also to TALISMA.
Mr. McCoy
-Going to UNIV classes w/ Dan Wright to set up appts w/ students to try to engage them in engage them in engineering.

· Faculty searches- EVEN- posted position on JavJobs, still need to post in chronicle, ME- reviewed apps for visiting professor in Spring & working on position announcement for faculty in Spring. KDJ/LP
· Writing Intensive courses- need to assign technical committee. BB
· Recruiting- impressed with science academy. LP
· “College Software Plan” comm.- no updates yet. SJN
· “Wireless Laptop requirement”- add Dr. Marsh to comm., no update yet. SJN
· Science Academy Visits- Nov. 30th, Medellin interested in going. BM
· Engineering Marvels- would like ME episode, sent EVEN rewrite. SJN
· 2012-2013 Budget- released, will check in on subaccounts. SJN/TDG
· Coastal Bend Business Plan Competition- need 3-5 teams to apply, none yet. SJN
· Co-op/Internship initiative- will be EAC topic, need Nathan to attend. SJN
· Tenure, Promotion, Post tenure review- need PTR, T&P already sent to Provost. SJN
· IEP’s- due on Nov. 7th, send email labeled “IEP 2012- Dept of_____). SJN
· Update on South Texas “Engineering Vision”- handout given, timelines for 3 institutions. SJN
· Catalogs- need cleaning up. SJN

· Articulation Agreements- TAMIU, will send electronic copy to depts. SJN
