Dr Seker has organised the 4thinvited session “Bringing big data to its knees-IV: Advances in storing, mining and visualising big bio-medical data in the post-genomic era” at IEEE EMBC 2016 (17-20 August 2016, Orlando, FL, USA). This has been the 4th year running since 2013 in Osaka.

Dr Huseyin Seker has received an invitation and full funding from the University of Cambridge - Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences to attend the workshop on "Mathematical, Statistical and Computational Aspects of the New Science of Metagenomics" (24-28 March 2014).
The group members (H.Seker, A. Orun and E. Goodyear) have been awarded a project funding to work on “Development of novel non-invasive diagnostic tools for early signs of diseases by use of comprehensive laser speckle imaging methods and computational intelligence”. The project will last 9 months commencing in October 2013.

New research funding:The research team (Dr Goodyear, Dr Seker and Dr Smith) has won a research funding to work on computational identification of skin types. This will help further extend the previously funded project “Expert System Development for the Detection of Melanoma (Skin Cancer)” led by Dr Smith and Dr Seker.

HOPE research project funding:Dr Geoff Smith and Dr Huseyin Seker have been awarded a research project funding by the HOPE foundation to work on Expert System Development for the Detection of Melanoma (Skin Cancer). Mr. Martin Mueller-Holtz has been found successful to work on the project as a PhD researcher. The three-year project started in April 2011.
