SPECIFICATIONS FOR

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE FOR KENTWOOD SOUTH STATIONARY SCALE, 77479 I-55 SOUTH, KENTWOOD, LA

CONTRACT

Contract for furnishing GROUNDS MAINTENANCE FOR KENTWOOD SOUTH STATIONARY SCALE as requested in accordance with provisions set forth for the twelve (12) month period beginning July 1, 2017 and ending June 30, 2018 as specified herein.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

All Contractor personnel are expected to work in a manner which will maintain the best interests of the Department of Public Safety (DPS). DPS reserves the right to require the Contractor to dismiss any employees deemed incompetent, careless, insubordinate or otherwise objectionable or any person whose actions are deemed to be contrary to public interests or inconsistent with the best interest of DPS. The Contractor agrees that during the term of this contract, he and his employees will conduct themselves in a careful and prudent manner.

The Contractor shall not allow any person that is not on the Contractor’s payroll at the facility at any time.

The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and supplies.

A working supervisor is to be on site at each service.

Provide, if possible, that the same employee or employees perform the service during the length of the contract.

Assigned employee supervisor must cooperate and coordinate with the Delta Stationary Scale staff.

The Contractor will be directly responsible for any and all damages caused by Contractor employees. Repair to all damages must be made within 1 week of the date damage occurred. If the Contractor fails to repair the damage, DPS may have the damage repaired by a third party. The Contractor will be responsible for payment to the third party.

DPS shall not be responsible or liable for equipment, materials, or supplies not the security thereof.

Unnecessary and irresponsible damage to the grounds, lawn, irrigation and cemented surfaces made while carrying out these services shall be the responsibility of the vendor to repair.

DPS has the responsibility of determining the adequacy of performance by the Contractor in accordance with the terms and conditions of this contract.

No alcoholic beverages or drugs will be allowed on the premises nor will the contractor’s personnel be allowed on the premises under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

All work performed at DPS Kentwood South Stationary Scale must be performed during the week, Monday-Friday between the times of 6:00 – 11:00 a.m. or 12:00 – 3:30 p.m.

INSURANCE

Public liability insurance and workmen’s compensation shall be carried by the contractor and a certificate of insurance shall be furnished within ten days after notification. The limits of such insurance shall be as follows and shall be from a company licensed to do business in the State of Louisiana (see attached insurance requirements).

SCOPE OF WORK

The area covered by the contract is approximately .75 acres. Services shall be performed as follows:

MARCH-OCTOBER (FOUR TIMES A MONTH)

1.  Pick-up debris within cutting area

2.  Mow grass

3.  Weed eat and edge around building, trees and all other obstacles

4.  Blow off sidewalks, drives and parking lot areas near curbs

NOVERMBER-FEBRUARY (ONCE PER MONTH)

1. Pick-up debris within cutting area

2. Mow grass

3. Weed eat and edge around building, trees and all other obstacles

4. Blow off sidewalks, drives and parking lot areas near curbs
