1.  How the Admissions are made in BCE?

  1. BCE is a Jain Minority College in the Karnataka State. There are two types of seats available in BCE. One Government seats (40%) filled by KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority) CET Cell depending upon the Karnataka CET Ranking. Other seats (50%) are filled by the Management of BCE based upon the merit of the student (both Jains and Non Jains) at different States CET / JEE Ranking. Balance seats (10%) are alloted by the Management of BCE to the student without any CET Ranking but he/she needs to satisfy the Eligibility Criteria.

2.  What is the Eligibility Criteria for Admission at BCE?

  1. Admission Criteria will be fixed by the Affiliated University time to time. Presently Admission Criteria is as follows:
  2. The applicant must satisfy eligibility condition mentioned either under i) or under ii) below.

i)  Pass in Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Standard or equivalent examination with English as one of the language of study and Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects of study and obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the optional subjects. (40% in case of students belonging to reserved categories).

ii)  Pass in three years Diploma course in appropriate branch of Engineering (or equivalent examination) with minimum of 50% marks in the third year.

3.  For which University BCE is Affiliated?

  1. BCE is Affiliated to “Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum”. You find details of VTU at www.vtu.ac.in

4.  What shall I do to take Admission under Management Quota in BCE?

  1. You need to satisfy the eligibility criteria. (See Q.2)
  2. You can download admission application form from the college website and send it by ‘speedpost’ after duly filling it. Enclose Xerox copy of the 2nd PUC / 12th Standard or equivalent examination Marks Card and CET Rank Proof.
  3. If you are found eligible, you will be called for counseling at BCE.
  4. You will be allotted seat as per the availability.
  5. You have to confirm your admission after submitting all original Marks Cards & Certificates and Paying the Fees.

5.  How can I get the admission application form?

  1. In person : Pay application fee of Rs. 500/- in the College office and collect the form.
  2. By post: Send the request to the Principal, along with a DD for Rs 550, drawn in favour of “Principal, Bahubali College of Engineering” and payable at Shravanabelagola or at Channarayapatna. [Add additional Rs.70/- for DD payable at a place other than Shravanabelagola or Channarayapatna]
  3. From website: Visit college website www.bce.org.in

6.  What is the fee structure for different courses in BCE?

  1. Fee Structure (Maximum Limit) for the Management Seats will be fixed by the Karnataka Government time to time.
  2. Government has fixed fees for the Management Quota Seats for the Academic Year 2015-16 is Rs. 1,25,000/-.
  3. However, BCE being the Charitable Institute run by SSDJJP Sangha under the patronage of H. H. Charukeerty Swamiji, there will be “No Donation/No Capitation”.
  4. To encourage middle/weaker section of the society, further there is reduction of Fees as fixed by the Government.
  5. For the Academic Year 2016-17, the Tution Fee Structure is as follows:

7.  How much Tution Fees the student has to pay every year?

  1. The student has to pay same amount of Tution Fees every year (4 years) what he/she pays in the first year.

8.  What are the benefits to the Jain Students in BCE?

  1. First there is concession in the Fees as stated above.
  2. There are many Trusts who give scholarships to the Jain Students. BCE provide the list of such Trusts to the students. The students can apply for scholarships.
  3. There are many Central/State Govt. scholarships available to the Jain students.
  4. Shravanabelagola is treated as “Jain Kashi”. Student gets Religious/Spiritual atmosphere around them to groom.
  5. On request Food shall be provided before sun-set in the Hostel Mess.

9.  Is it compulsorily required CET Ranking of any state for Admission at BCE?

  1. No. But you need to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria. (See Q.2)

10.  How can I book my admission seat at BCE?

  1. After satisfying the eligibility criteria (See Q.2), by submitting all original Marks Cards & Certificates and Paying the Fees you can book your seat at BCE.

11.  What if I cancel my admission at BCE after paying the fees?

  1. The fees paid will be forfeited. You will be returned your Original Marks Cards and Certificates.

17.  What is the BCE College Ranking in the Karnataka State?

  1. Generally no ranking is given by the University to any Engineering Colleges in Karnataka.
  2. If the cutoff Ranking of the students admitted to the college (input) to the final results of the outgoing students (output) are considered, we definitely stand in top 30 colleges in Karnataka

18.  What is the procedure to get admission to the Hostel?

After the admission to the College, a student may apply for admission to the hostel on a separate application form which is available with the Warden / Manager of the hostel. The allotment of the hostel is on first come first serve basis and depending on availability. Hostel Fees are as follows:

Application form -

Registration fees - Rs. 13,000/- [Per Annum, Rent Charges]

Maintenance fees -

Hostel Deposit - Rs. 8,000/- [2/3 amount will be returned]

Mess Deposit - Rs. 2,000/- [partial / full refund depending on inflation rate]

Mess Charges - Rs. 19,000/- [Per Annum]

The total fee of Rs.42,000/- should be paid through DD drawn in favour of “BCE Hostel Maintenance A/c” payable at Shravanabelagola [Add additional Rs.70/- for DD payable at a place other than Shravanabelagola or Channarayapatna]
