POSITION: Family Resource Center Manager

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for managing the facilities, outdoor learning environment and coordinate Family Resource Center operations in conjunction with staff, an advisory committee, subcontractors and volunteers. Responsible for serving as liaison with database and managed IT service providers and facilitating an in-house technology team.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

§  Managerial/supervisory, budget, facilities and playground experience

§  Event planning

§  Knowledge and experience in child and family development best practices

§  Excellent computer skills with 2 years experience in a windows based environment running Microsoft Office Professional preferred

§  Possess 2-4 years experience in administrative systems development and management

§  Valid Driver’s License

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

DEPC Family Resource Center:

§  Oversee day-to-day operations of the Family Resource Center, which houses multiple family services programs

§  Supervise Family Resource Specialist

§  Coordinate coverage and staff rotation for intake at front desk

§  Review and approve room reservations for program meetings

§  Management of the outdoor learning environment including community engagement and open use procedures

§  Coordinate semi-annual outdoor learning activities on the Discovery Park

§  Facilitate the development of a Family Resource Center Advisory Committee

§  Maintains master Family Resource Center calendar

§  Assist with event planning including Week of the Young Child

§  Responsible for development and oversight of Family Resource Center building and grounds related contracts

§  Perform facilities audits with Family Resource Specialist to identify any areas of concern and develop a plan to resolve

§  Serve as a liaison with the Down East neighborhood

§  Manage the volunteer management system and reporting

§  Manage in-kind donations for in-house literacy initiatives

Operations Coordination:

§  Staff technology team to develop a Technology Plan, evaluate new software; upgrade of existing versions and increase staff capacity to utilize technology with the assistance of a Managed IT Service Provider.

§  Manage the database and information technology services used by DEPC

§  Assist with the management of an Emergency Preparedness Team and the development of an agency plan

§  Oversee the Staff Wellness Committee and assist with staff meetings/retreats

§  Responsible for preparing for new staff to include adding to sign-in board, lobby staff listing, phone listing, phone tree and office door signs

§  Maintain staff leave calendar

§  Coordinate conference registrations and travel arrangements

§  Responsible for phone system maintenance

§  Coordinate the training for office equipment

§  Coordinate maintenance of existing office equipment, including troubleshooting

§  Maintenance of supply rooms

§  Manage staff clean-up projects

Fixed Assets:

§  Maintain the Fixed Assets database

§  Assist with annual inventory of the DEPC’s fixed assets

§  Assist the with the disposal of fixed assets and other facilities related equipment

Other:

§  Provide support for the Executive Director

§  Attend Operation team meetings, DEPC staff meetings and retreats which may include an out of town retreat.

§  Any other activities as requested by the Operations and Executive Director.

EDUCATION:

§  AA, BA or BS Degree and/or equivalent combined related experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·  While performing this job the employee is:
